There's really only one way to truly fix a P3005: buy a new printer. The P3005 wasn't a well designed printer to begin with. In addition to the grinding, laser issues, phantom jams, formatter failures were all known problems with this model. Any repairs I've found with this printer merely resets the clock. The gears will grind again eventually, the bearing in the fuser will wear out again, formatter will fail again, etc. This was a flawed model from the get-go. There are much better printers new and used to choose from to replace it with

How to solve this eror 13.05.00 jam inside top cover p3005

start with a new toner cart, just in case the drum isn't turning for some reason. if the paper passes the toner and then stops right at the fuser, then the issue is with the fuser. either the gears aren't turning and/or the fuser is inserted wrong and not lined up correctly. *also, check for foreign obstacles in the paper path. Good luck.

+Tedy Tsegay A 52 error relates to a bad laser scanner. I don't have a video for that but if remove the top cover, the laser scanner is right below it. It is the big black unit with a yellow sticker on it w/ a few wires plugged into it. go to precissionroller.com to find the part. (it is basically an octagon shaped mirror on a motor and the motor isn't spinning fast enough) Good luck Tedy

Does p3005 use a laser or LED? It sounds like it uses LED.

I have a problem that goes deeper. The lift on the bottom tray doesn't work properly anymore, and it doesn't grab the paper. My bottom tray has been rendered useless. I've replaced all the gears I can get to, but I'm thinking this is a much deeper mechanical problem. Any ideas? This printer has worked flawlessly for me for 5 years. I really hate to get rid if it, it's been an awesome printer. I've looked everywhere on the web and have not found a fix for this problem.

I haven't ever seen the tray 2 be a big mechanical issue, doesn't mean it can't be tho. Check some easier things first. Make sure the paper size selector is in the correct place (on the LTR) so it's not putting too much pressure on the paper. Second, remove the feed roller and check the end of the roller shaft, I have seen that coupler break do to overloading the paper tray. Start there, if that doesn't work, reply and I'll give you more ideas. Thanks & good luck.

Lonnie Ernst I've done a complete maintenance refurb on this unit. I've bought all the new rollers, and gears. Today, I looked thru the back of the machine to see if the roller was in fact coming down and making contact with the paper, and it appears to be doing so. It just doesn't grab the paper. It's a brand new roller, and it feels VERY abrasive, and should grab the paper. I'm thinking that that roller isn't coming down on the paper with enough force to push against the paper. Another symptom is I put paper in the 1st Tray, and I have to put in a VERY little amount, or the paper won't feed into it there either. That's why I'm thinking the drive mechanism on the roller is possibly out of tolerance and won't apply pressure down onto the paper. I've also replaced the motherboard, and added memory, I know that doesn't have anything to do with it, but this is a rockin printer, and I'm trying to keep it! :) I will check the roller again however to make sure I didn't break something.

On the 3005 model, the pick up roller doesn't go down to the paper, the paper comes up to it. However, the roller is misshaped (not completely round) so it might appear as the roller comes down the paper if your looking at the roller from the back of the tray using a flash light. Watch it again, if the paper starts to feed, then comes back down, then that might be a different set of rollers, if the roller isn't touching the paper then either your paper tray is bad (not lifting) or the frame assembly is bad on the printer and it's not unlocking the paper tray. Remove the paper tray and release the lock tabs and see if the spring inside the tray has enough lift to raise the paper all the way to the top.

Lonnie Ernst Hey Lonnie, the tray is in great shape. It's lifting and doing it's job. It may very well be the roller. I never did really stop to think that they may have several versions that look very close to the original and sent me one that's smaller and won't hit the paper now that you mention that. What exact roller should I use? Last one I got was off of Ebay, and looked right. Had the right part number and the whole nine yards.

Thanks for watching Fred, hopefully you figured out your printer problem by now. In my video, I didn't replace the bushing, I replaced the whole fuser. It is an easier repair that way. I pointed out that you "could" replace just the bushing if you wanted to try to save money but that will require more labor, having to take the fuser apart. It's not too hard to do, just time consuming. I would just replace the whole fuser w/ new gears. Good Luck. I don't have a "how to break down the fuser video to share" sorry.

Every time I replace the gears and install a new fuser, it never fixes the problem. We go through one of these printers about every 8-10 months, sometimes sooner. I don't mind the labor, but tired of buying replacement printers that do the same thing within a year. I agree with you Fred, it would have been nice to see how to disassemble the fuser. These printers get harder to find and more expensive for each purchase, not to mention freight is horrid due to size and weight.
