Thank you! We have spent a lot of time trying to build up our capabilities in video production to provide what we feel is necessary information on the tools we use and recommend. KZbin is a great resource but if you want to find all the videos we have made on the MDV Fixed Blade and other Skallywag tools, please consider looking at our dedicated Skallywag webpage on our Elite You training platform. You will find all the content we placed on KZbin as well as content we cant upload without getting in trouble. Is that a Kore belt? It looks great

Its a very similar design to Kore. Its made by Nexbelt. I use their low profile ratchet belts for every day carry. Love their products. -MDv

The Nexbelt model I use now can be bought on amazon at the following link: www.amazon.com/Nexbelt-PCS9121-NTAC-45-1-75-Belt/dp/B0BT73H75R/ref=sr_1_66?crid=36IO9QFV02238&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.kqJdxleifk8WM4cMqTY-lTRgpb_bPtJJfjmFBUld5Uzs0MIxGsC1Fs4ocbiLYnUUX2-WdobophoLdK_uCU6rDdtbQjG0N_gJY-5K-M-Ae_P_7ycE-eSrSet8DsywzM9mZ6h9JNnVRneMoVWwRqrBSPg9V0AaF16NkCl2orVyL5v_bX4LS6F1c6NiRAkJ7Zbw.DkBb8ysAbp6pPTU1OF7QT74iNTOBe8GLBc0jdhD9Cl8&dib_tag=se&keywords=nexbelt&qid=1723178543&sprefix=nexbelt+%2Cstripbooks%2C149&sr=8-66 I like this model better because the buckle is so small that it can be pushed through normal belt loops if you need more real estate in front of you. The other buckle was larger and you would have to take the belt off if you needed to bypass a belt loop. I find this necessary when I carry a pistol with a horizontal extra magazine, or when I carry a pistol with my MDV in the front. I made it work in this video but the new belt model makes it a much better setup due to there being no extra bulk from the buckle. Hope that helps. -MDv

Is the point to defend yourself or to mess up the other guy? Where I live, using a knife as a self-defense tool can get me in some serious legal trouble, whether I actually know what I'm doing or not. I prefer blunt weapons, a half-sized baseball bat can be super persuasive and has much better chance of being considered a "reasonable use of force" in a courtroom.

Will that work from the left side as well?
@EliteYouChannelАй бұрын
If placed on the left side, the only reliably consistent deployment would be driving it forward into a reverse grip unless you move the clip to the other side. The clip can be placed on either side depending on if you’re right or left handed and your specific needs of this blade. When the clip is in its original position, you can deploy into both grips in your strong/right side pocket and deploy it in a reverse grip when in your left side pocket. This usually isn’t a problem for those that carry a fighting folder but haven’t specialized in edged weapon skills. Most people who aren’t highly skilled with edged weapons prefer to have the option of a forward or reverse grip with their main hand and find better success in a reverse grip if they are using their off hand. This isn’t the case for everyone but it’s impossible to create a design that suits every desired feature. The pommel swell and hook combo on the MDV Folder allows for reliably consistent draws that would normally be more difficult to achieve due to the flatness of the handle. Thank you for the question

@@EliteYouChannel, thank you for taking the time to provide a detailed explanation. Fortunately, I'm adept at using my right hand even though I'm left-hand dominant. And I do prefer the reverse grip. Again, thank you for your time, sir 🙏🏼

How long does it usually take you guys to process an order before you ship it ?
@EliteYouChannel2 ай бұрын
That would be a question for Skallywag Tactical. We create training videos for some of their products. Their stated shipping policy is "We will always try to ship items next business day unless otherwise stated in the description of the item being purchased such as a longer lead time item or pre-sale item." That can be found on their website www.SkallywagTactical.com Thanks for the question.

If I can toss a challenge to you- please make a video of top 2 or 3 things that women over 50 can do if the attacker is already moving in to her personal space (6feet or so) with possible intent to attack. Obviously, the pre-emptive thing is to NOT get to that point. I sincerely appreciate the frank, truthful videos you are providing. It still seems quite hopeless if a woman has been targeted unless she's carrying a firearm.
@EliteYouChannel3 ай бұрын
I like that challenge. We will start working on that for you and I’ll return to this post to let you know when it’s released. In the meantime, have you listened to our Sexual Assault Awareness and Prevention Seminar? Thanks for watching. The following is a list of the QUIZ found within this video... For those interested in taking the quiz with the seminar attendees. 1. In 50% of sexual assaults, the attacker and victim are from the same socioeconomic status and race. 2. 1 out of 10 attacks take place inside the victim's home. 3. Over 40% of attacks occur between the hours of midnight and 6 a.m. 4. 45% of males who raped young boys report that they are heterosexual. 5. Even if convicted of rape with a felony conviction, 10% will spend zero time in jail. 6. 25% of all convicted rapists are re-arrested within three years of release from prison. 7. On any single day in the United States of America, there are approximately 121,000 sexual predators in the care of the corrections system. 8. 3 out of 10 sexual assaults involve more than one attacker making self defense more difficult. 9. Approximately 300,000 women are physically assaulted in the United States every year. (Rape and Assault) 10. Sexual assault is usually motivated by some uncontrollable sexual impulses and are rarely planned. 11. Approximately 30% of women in the United States will be victims of a violent crime during their lifetime. 12. 7.7 million women living in the United States have been victims of rape or attempted rape during their lifetime. 13. Most sexual predators are young, single males with a history of criminal activity. 14. Attackers that are not known by the victim commit approximately 70% of all sexual assaults. 15. Approximately, 800 sexual assaults occur each and every day in the United States. 16. Approximately 20,000 rapes of women over the age of 50 are reported every year. 17. Every two minutes in the Unites States, a woman is physically battered. 18. Domestic violence costs approximately 3 to 5 million dollars in medical bills per year. 19. Young boys that witness their fathers abuse their mothers are three times more likely to abuse their spouse than a child that didn’t witness domestic violence. 20. Approximately 300,000 women seek medical attention each year because of domestic violence.

Very creative use of weapons. I see outstanding benefits in a CQC situation. From a distance, I would use both hands on the firearm. Do you have any issues with the glass breaker in your reverse grip? It appears that you have none. Thanks!
@MidNightsHunter4 ай бұрын
Sheath & Holsters are just as important as the weapons, you are so right! I have a draw full of holsters to prove that. It is a unique system you have developed. The least amount of force needed to protect one's self. The MCK Fieldcraft Survival Knife also has an effective system. Thank you.

I’ve been training in an edged weapon art for several years now, upon retiring from my LE career. I’ve faced a blade three times in both my career and post career work doing security. One I survived by sheer luck. I never knew he’d even drawn the blade until well after it was over and we found the opened blade on the ground. To say my pucker factor rose a bit is barely scratching the surface. Another time I took a knife away from someone but only because I attacked them from behind and they never brought it to bear. You can absolutely train to defend yourself unarmed against a knife. But understand the stakes and the reality. It’s a last ditch thing. You should literally have no other choice. It’s a very low percentage situation. You are very very likely to be badly injured even if you are decently trained. Unlike a punch, the knife will do significant damage every single time it even touches you. A five year old waving a knife around will cut you badly if the knife makes contact. It’s a scary weapon One should definitely train against knives, because we do not get to dictate what situations we will be put in, and knives are very prevalent in certain cultures and make effective weapons in rape and robbery type crimes. But don’t kid yourself that it’ll be easy. A for real knife attack launched at you will be one of the worse days you’ll ever face. Just have the training and resolve to survive it.

Please have more structure like the Shawn Ryan show
@EliteYouChannel5 ай бұрын
Thank you for the comment and watching. Our production value is completely based on funding. Shawn Ryan has a much larger budget due to his hard work establishing his podcast. We upgrade our production value as we are able. This conversation was filmed because we were together during the holidays and wanted to create content to share. Maybe setting up a quick video chat was the wrong call and only providing professionally edited content would be better. We will take this into consideration moving forward. If you are referring to how we run the conversations and what we cover, that’s due to us having different goals. We are not looking to have single conversations with high level people. And our “podcast” isn’t the only value we bring through our services. This will result in things being different. Some enjoy this, others don’t. For those that don’t, there are multiple channels that have a similar structure as Shawn.

I didn't get the training knife with my Skallywag but don't think I need it. Do they normally come in the kit?
@EliteYouChannel5 ай бұрын
They don’t any more. They used to. Then people who don’t train complained that they didn’t need them. Until they cut themselves doing anything near realistic with the blade. lol. Even professionals use trainers to make sure movement is near perfect before using the real thing. Can’t make everyone happy. 🤷♂️ Skallwaytactical.com is sold out of trainers at the moment. They are in production.

Great discussion, i paused 23:47 because of terminology, in the aftermath of an aggressor forcing a person into a situation where fighting is the only option and law enforcement is getting information words like "lure" & "provoke" build a case that could be used against the victim or at the very least provide the aggressor the argument that could save them from jail. In my country level of force in self defense has to be equal to the threat, if you cant justify the level of force used in protecting yourself you can end up in jail alongside your attacker. Also anything we carry like was mentioned in the beginning has to be justified in a non confrontational reason, anything carried for the purpose of self defense is considered a prohibited weapon and charges could be given. Again very good discussion
