C'est dommage de mettre "à la poubelle" du matos aussi fiable qu'une Alouette III sous pretexte de... "modernisme" ! Je ne suis pas certain qu'un AW109 soit réellement plus... "économique", surtout à l'achat !!... Quant à son entretien, il faudra attendre un certain temps d'utilisation avant de dire qu'un AW109 soit plus rentable qu'une Alouette III.

That particular Lama (HB-ZHZ), with its dual cargo baskets, bubble door and snow shoes, just looks so action packed, and fit for purpose.

I have never seen a helicopter pilot wearing a’peak’ on the front of a flight helmet before! I wonder if it prevents the use of a visor? If so, that peak won’t be of much use in the event of a bird strike!

Great video!! I never had the opportunity to fly the Lama, but I flew the Aloutte in the Amazon jungle and did a great job. I miss this bird so much!! About this video, when the pilot mentioned the hot temperature, we normally flew about 10 hours a day with a sling load, just one start. One day I went back to base for another blunt fill and to pick up another load but it wasn't ready and I had the rare opportunity to switch off and have a quick lunch, about 40 minutes later when I was about to start my finger burned when I touched the cyclic , I checked the thermometer and the needle was completely curved and locked at 50* C, really only being an exceptional machine to be able to work in such extreme conditions of temperature and humidity. Fifteen minutes of pure bliss. Still the most beautiful chopper ever made. Performance pound for pound # 1. I have watched this video 20 times and still entranced by the pilots skills. On my bucket list to ride in the God given machine.

J'habitais en montagne à l'époque près d'un poste de gendarmerie en Isere et je bondissais à chaque fois que j'entendais le bruit de la turbine de l'alouette de la gendarmerie,de la sécurité civile ,voire de l'alat.J'étais fasciné.

Je suis monté dans une Alouette II à Moruroa en 68, au dessus du lagon, c'était fantastique ! Pendant un certain temps on a survoler des requins à pointes noires qui nageaient dans tous les sens, affolés par les palles de l'hélico !! Grand souvenir ....
