@@Paris_Charles As a traveler to Australia, I didn't know what to expect to come across at the tracks. Here in the States, the vast majority of tracks have grandstands or bleacher seating, and any left over grassy area would be for overflow crowds. Australia seems to be the opposite. I paid the $5 for the stands at Premier, but got to Speedway City a little late and sat in the grass, near turn one. Fortunately, a nice lady behind me offered the spare camping chair besides her, since the occupant was in the pits. If I had to do it all over again, I'd buy a camping chair right off and donate it on my departure. Side note: My AirBnb host let me use hers for Murray Bridge Speedway and Gilman Speedway. I have a fond memory of sitting next to a local at Murray Bridge and trying hard to work my way through the Aussie slang he was using. I loved it, met a lot of great people in Australia.

Way back in the late eighties I drove the push car occasionally, so, one night we were told to turn up at the track and don't tell anyone. Bit strange, turned out 2 or 3 formula 1 drivers wanted a fang in a sprint car. No media, just a skeleton crew, the f1 guys ( a lot of pit crew people) 2 sprint cars and the track in pretty good shape. It was amazing how fast the f1 drivers got the hang of it. Good Times.

@@Paris_Charles pre iphone I'm afraid and it was a strictly no media. I think it was something to do with breaching driver contracts. Another thing that happened back then was the the time Senna and Mansel crashed their BEA Mercedes loan cars at 1 in the morning. Story was they were drifting these brand new 190 benzs around whitmore square Senna lost it and they stuck the car in a shop window, by the time we got there with the tilt tray the scene was deserted.Dragged the car out dropped it at BEA as per instructions, only found out years later when reminiscing about the good old days with a few mates who were high up in the adelaide f1 organization, lol.

It seems Adelaide is too small to have an actual speedway. But million will be spent on a 'temporary' speedway in the Parklands.
