I just recently got my Christmas cactus so it's my first time growing one😊

"That's so exciting! 🎉 Christmas cacti are such beautiful plants. Make sure to give it bright, indirect light and let the soil dry out a bit between waterings. If you ever have questions, feel free to ask-happy growing! 🌵✨"

I live in Florida panhandle believe zone 9a, second year plants that haven’t grown much and no blooms but I love the leaves. Fall is coming in and I’ve found near the base but not in ground what looks like seed pods developing, what are they and should I harvest before winter
@GreenHome001Ай бұрын
Hi ...If you have planted a Leopard Plant and are growing it in your garden, yes, the seed pods typically appear in the fall. These pods contain the plant's seeds and turn brown when mature. If you plan to propagate the plant, you can collect the seeds and plant them in the appropriate season. However, make sure to confirm that these pods are indeed from the Leopard Plant before proceeding. 🫶🏻 🪴To determine whether the seed pods belong to the Leopard Plant, consider the following points: Appearance of the Pods: The seed pods of the Leopard Plant are typically oval-shaped and turn dark brown when mature. If their shape and color match this description, they are likely from the Leopard Plant. Location of the Pods: Pods usually appear near the base of the plant or in areas where flowers have previously bloomed. If the pods are away from other plants in your garden and close to the Leopard Plant, they are probably from that plant. Time of Appearance: The pods generally emerge in the fall. If you see them during this time, they are likely from the Leopard Plant. Examine the Seeds: If you open the pods and examine the seeds inside, the seeds of the Leopard Plant are usually oval and relatively small. These seeds will differ from those of other plants.

@ they are still attached to plants so should I remove and plant or let them flower first? Thank you

@@judyhowell7075 To propagate a Plank plant via offsets, the best time to separate the offsets is when both the mother plant and the offsets are fully grown, and the offsets have developed sufficient roots. This typically occurs in spring or early summer, when the plant is actively growing and conditions are more favorable for propagation. A few things to consider: Root Development: Before separating the offsets from the mother plant, make sure that the offsets have developed enough roots to survive independently. Careful Handling: When separating the offsets, be careful not to damage the mother plant. It’s best to use clean, sharp tools for the job. Temperature and Humidity: After separating the offsets, place them in a humid and warm environment to help them establish roots more easily. Once the offsets have started to grow independently and their roots are sufficiently developed, you can safely separate them from the mother plant and pot them into new containers. 🫶🏻

This is such a cool idea! 🌿 I love the thought of growing plants without soil-it seems so easy and low-maintenance. Thanks for the water gardening tips
