Coal bug at 17:30 - ended up with way more coal than I should have. I left paradise meadows with 31 coal (3:28), picked up 6 on the ice (15:23) and 3 in basin cave (17:17) so I should have 40 coal legitimately. I didn't expect to have saved up that many coal myself (at the time of recording) so I set aside more "tainted" coal than I should have. Note to self: 29 coal in inventory (23:36) so I'll need to take 11 more from the backpack when I'm back.

This is the first time I`ve seen the bedroll spawn in that train wagon; good luck with the challenge ! Great playthroughs
@gotmilkanot9 күн бұрын
Thanks! For ML outdoor bedroll, you'll need to check 3 spots: that yellow train cart, the cave at 1:13:00 and the hunting blind at 1:24:00. If you don't find it at any of these spots, it means the ML outdoor bedroll doesn't exist in your run, and you'll have to find the bedroll somewhere else (usually BI due to the closeness).

I like how Misery afflictions make you so much more fragile in the late game, though I wish it used NOGOA baseline instead of Interloper. Things like BBT availability, high plant spawns, more forgiving wind make Misery feel a lot easier for experienced NOGOA players.

*Bad news:* OBS crashed while it was "stopping recording" for Day 98-100 gameplay so the recording didn't actually get saved on my computer. We aren't missing out much though, since all I did was travel from Cook's farm to the ruined cabin in Keeper's Pass North. Also, I'm stopping this run at 100 days and will be taking a break from TLD till they add the cougar back. Then perhaps I'll do another TOM run with the cougar present, and that shall be my long-term chill run to go beyond 100 days.

there you are miss me a voice :D but is this not finally what i do in my misery naked run if i would just stay just outside then? i mean naked you can not stay without a fire inside too. if i would do this i would run quick naked ^^ to reach day 51. fishing huts are allowed right?
@gotmilkanotАй бұрын
Not the same as your naked run - I checked your 1st episode, you looted mountaineer's hut and coal in closed cave systems, which already violated the rules of this mode. *Rules for True OuterMisery (TOM):* - Misery mode but only stay in places that accumulate "hours outdoors" on stats page - Anywhere that accumulates "hours indoors" is off-limits - all locations with load screen and areas with significant warmth bonus - exceptions: - warm part of open caves allowed to loot but not stayed in - transition caves/mines between 2 regions allowed to pass through ONLY IF there is no other purely outdoor way (e.g. can pass through HRV-MT cave but not ML-MT cave). No looting or loitering allowed in such caves/mines - "Hours indoors" can be non-zero (as you might accumulate enough indoor time at some point), but keep it as close as possible to zero I already did a TOM run here (61 days): kzbin.info/aero/PLXqXJ3R-kIHnjloD55Iwg0_nbA9Ag-mgP I am currently doing TOM+ which is a harder version of TOM.
@evendark1974Ай бұрын
@@gotmilkanot mountainer hut should be the same like a cave where you can loot the warm part quick :) but anyway ok got it. challenge ok but it sounds a bit boring then you need alot of start overs until you get a outside bedroll. no backpack then an not the big ch coal mine because you can reach ch over the ravine. the only coal is from WR then or HR outside caves
@gotmilkanotАй бұрын
@@evendark1974 Nah, those "outdoor" structures with significant warmth bonus (>5C) are not allowed. That is the very basic rule of outer runs. I still allow looting the warm side of open caves to avoid confusion - if not, people will be like "oh I was freezing and didn't know the coal I picked up was on the warm side". Also to make it not too harsh - most outdoor coal and bedrolls are on the warm side. Also, you can't pass through the Dam in this mode because it is a building with load screen. To get to ML from PV, you must pass through cinder hills mine -> CH -> Ravine. And you can't loiter around (e.g. warm up) or pick up anything (including coal) while passing through such transition caves/mines between 2 regions.
@evendark1974Ай бұрын
@@gotmilkanot j4f you can reach CH on a normal outer way this means you can only go over winding river -> dam then ^^ the only transition caves that you really need to pass is HRV, going to transfer pass, WR, and one to reach blackrock, the last for DP. but yes the fact of RNG get a bedroll on the ouside and star over again and again is nothing for me :) i like to start and go
@gotmilkanotАй бұрын
@@evendark1974 I just said in my previous comment that you can't pass through the Dam 😅 Must pass through cinder hills (PV-CH) mine if you want to go from PV to CH or ML. All you need to get a start going in this mode is RNG matches before hypothermia. Once you have matches, you can check the outdoor bedroll spots in PV, WR and/or beeline to ML via CH -> Ravine. If still no bedroll in ML, then go to BI. So there is no need to reroll starts until you get a bedroll in PV.

Do you think misery with no teas or coffee is possible? They are literally the only way to slow down temperature loss
@gotmilkanotАй бұрын
Sure for regular Misery, though the gameplay will be even more tedious and boring because you'll have to start a fire every 50m. I don't think it's possible for True OuterMisery though.
@fernandoullaguari9073Ай бұрын
Love this game even more when setting to the hardest difficulty Misery mode should be no recovery condition, no magnifying glass and no ability to craft torches
@gotmilkanotАй бұрын
Yeah, they should have just used NOGOA instead of Interloper as the baseline settings.
@Flaming_markАй бұрын
The temperature in misery drops by 20⁰ in 3 days but does it drops with the same speed in misery NOGOA? Since there are some hidden in-game settings exclusive only for misery and cannot be turned in custom difficulty.
@gotmilkanotАй бұрын
In NOGOA, no, it has the same cold progression rate as Interloper. There is this "Extreme Temperature Drop" mod that allows you to tweak the cold progression, but it didn't seem to be working when I last tried. So all my Misery NOGOA/OuterNOGOA gameplays so far do not have Misery's cold progression. Also just a side note: I think Misery OuterNOGOA is borderline impossible to survive past the first week if it had Misery's cold progression. True OuterMisery works because even when it's impossible to avoid cold damage early game, there is still health regen till Broken Body which comes only after 46 days survived. No such thing as "condition as a resource" in Misery OuterNOGOA because we have Broken Body from the start and every cold damage has x2 multiplier.

Why aren't you wearing bear coat on the outer slot? It's better than moose coat or there is a specific reason for it?
@gotmilkanot2 ай бұрын
The main selling point of the moose cloak is protection. If I'm wearing it as inner, it's basically just a much heavier mackinaw. I seldom use the moose cloak to be honest. I crafted it in this run only because I had 2 consecutive moose kills in BI. Since I already had a spare moose hide, I thought why not just craft the cloak instead of killing and harvesting 2 more bears or 4 wolves.
