I remember back in 2013 during my sophomore year of college chilling in the dorms with my buddies and all of us listening to this song together as it approached midnight on the first day of September. Those college years really flew by. Thomas, Joseph, Jake, Max, James, and Mitch, if you guys ever come across this comment, thank you for making college some of the best years of my life.

This band was a favorite of someone who was once special to me. This song is particularly rough for someone who gets consistently rejected by love... 45 and single is no place to end up, folks.

This song is decades old and i thought nothing of this song when i first heard it as a kid. Sounded pretty average. But i used to think it was about the September 11th and the war in Iraq, not only because of the lyrics but because of the music video. I rediscovered this song again in the last year or so. It's so touching for me. I even breathe more gently when the music plays. Ive never lost a love one in my life, but i can relate to simply wanting to grieve and go through despair. I really like how this song mutiple meanings. Originally inspired by the death of his father, it also reminds a lot of people of the attacks on September 11th.

lead singer Billie Joe Armstrong wrote this song about his father, who died of cancer on September 1, 1982. At his father's funeral, Billie cried, ran home and locked himself in his room. When his mother got home and knocked on the door to Billie's room, Billie simply said, "Wake me up when September ends," hence the title.

One of my Favorite Songs ever. Turned it into a Prayer & Praise to GOD. i owe my Stepson for putting this Song onto my radar back in the 2000s. For all of you who've lost Dads & dogs - all the ones we love! - read The Bible [means "The Books"]. Guess WHO The 66 Books Are From?🙂 THEY ALONE Can COMFORT you...
