Nice tips on how to build, but wanted to add a quick disclaimer that I don’t think I heard in your video. For those command cards, you showcased a good amount of them that have a double green aspect. If I’m not mistaken, you’ll have to pay extra for those since Aphra doesn’t have a green aspect herself. It kind of destroys the value of those cards since you’ll have to pay an extra 2 resources, which makes that smuggle one you mentioned even more expensive if you don’t play it from your hand. Aside from that, it’s really nice to see another person who sees potential in this leader!

You are right about the art and frame of the card need to compliment each other, but I think this could be made easier by following specific color pallets for your different factions. It doesn't have to be on the nose, but suble consistencies within the card art's pallete helps make each faction feel cohesive and distinct. I also think that the card frame should be designed first, and the card art should come after and should consider the frame as the piece is being made. Even if you have to overlay a frame over it from time to time or have one as easy reference during design. Good work man. You're doing great. Can't wait to see the next one. Subscribed.

I love the G1 Energon cubes. Classic. I really like the idea of an unstable genetic mutation happening suddenly because of the catalyst. This could be represented in your game very thematically and mechanically! Im very interested to see what else you have done to the game. As far as the name of the game, you coukd call it "Helix: Survival of the Fittest."

I left a comment on another video about your scale. Anyway, I am just watching all of these through. Your mulligan is actually quite strong. Consider this: You shuffle your deck and draw a hand of cards (however many that may be). You now have knowledge of which cards are not in your deck anymore, and if there is a constructed format, that also means the player knows what the best starting cards are in their deck (usually). Now, as you stated, you decide whether to set aside that hand or keep it, but this removes cards from the deck. Assuming a 40-50-60 card deck (it gets more powerful, the less you have), and given you set aside your hand aside, you don't have to draw another hand from a pool of cards the same size as the previous hand. This means you are more likely going to draw into what you want before reintroducing the old hand to your deck with a shuffle. If I have a 40 card deck and draw 5, I have only 35 cards left in the deck before drawing again. It is possible you could have hero mutations trigger once you hit a certain point on your light/dark scale. This might even make soecialized heroes for being too far to one side of the scale. Maybe the more weight in darkness, the more points you can remove from the scale to activate your dark abilities and vice versa. The balance is always headed towards equalibrium, and maybe you can use that as a point of leverage for some strategies. Edit: It could be a benefit to make habitat cards that you can play, but as long as a habitat is in play, it can be contested. This can create a back and forth where players are constantly trying to conquer their opponent or reconqure what they lost before. It takes away a physical movement, but it does also help reduce bookkeeping.

At first glance, I think Yellow is going to be the "meta" pick for basic colors. It might change based on the species and stats. But I think priorities will be on Yellow first, then Red. The game is built entirely around rolling dice. Having more Agility means either you are getting to re-roll misses (doubling your odds of a hit for that die) or preventing your opponent from rerolling misses. The ability to directly interfere with the results of the rolls AFTER the dice have already been cast feels really strong. Cards with a lot of draw power or search abilities are going to be particularly important here since Paintbrushes are going to be hard to find in a 50 card deck Also Food cards. Something you didn't mention is that Food cards can be played at any time on either player's turn. They are going to be critical since they can interact directly with any card your opponent plays. Right now I think the only one that REALLY matters (besides draw power) is Hot Dog of Justice since that negates a Legend card, but I'm sure more will come.

I made a completely different deck that ends up being pretty 'controlish' out of this hero. Does pretty good against the current top bobafet deck, with about a 50% win ratio.. i find it interesting your take on her though.

I also never heard of her, but I appreciate that they're including expanded universe characters even if this isn't one I've encountered. From what I can gather she was from a team multi-player EA game, two things that I generally stay away from as a rule of thumb. Not a huge fan of mulitplayer games in general, but at least in single player ones I don't feel bad when I suck, but I always feel like garbage when I'm hurting a team of other real humans. I actually don't own any cards yet but I participated in a tournament a couple days ago (some one present loaned me there deck). It was a generally good experience except in round 2 when I faced an Iden and she just didn't let me play the game, auto-defeating whatever I played and clearing my entire board at one point with that death star blast card, leading to me eventually just conceding rather then playing out the game, despite my base having barely been touched at that point, because I wasn't having any fun, and my goal was just to have fun, not to win anything. So... yeah, not a huge fan of this deck, not because its not good, don't know the game well enough to comment on that, but just because it wasn't fun to play against. I understand, however, that control decks are a long standing popular theme in card games, so I don't hold any ill will for anyone who runs this style, just know I probably will just concede immediately and wait for the next round.
