It's very contemporary, but I like it a lot. In my playlists “Church Organ” and "Classical/Contemporary", some pieces might interest you. Pleasant listening. All the best. JM.

When I saw the symphony number, I thought - wow! Heard this wonderful invention - and was thrilled again by this music.

Don't know why this song isn't more popular. I remember my father singing this to us in the candlelight by the wood stove at advent when i was a kid.

Oh, wow, what an absolutely amazing composition and so well played, when the music reaches into one's body, and massages one's heart, and feeds it soul, it is magical, and this piece is exactly that, truly magical, he sent my brain into a place of peace and tranquillity, allowed it to rest from the craziness of the world, and offered it respite. It lifted my spirits and gave me time to reflect, and to find hope for the future.

Beautiful! Is this based on Veni Creator?
@BERNARDHEYES2 жыл бұрын
Thank you. It’s not based on Veni Creator but on a folk tune that I wrote for recorder some years ago.

What a great addition to organ repertoire. Start working on it now, organists, and celebrate Easter 2022 with it. Congregations will love it, as will you.

Very strong performance, Nickolay Karpov. I very much like the tonalities in the works of Bernard Heyes and hope to obtain this score soon. Thank you for recording and posting this.

Did the graphic art presented at the top of this video inspire the music? Or did the artist respond to the music in creating the visual(s)? [email protected]

I hope we come to a time, very soon, when the visuals on these videos come on a computer disc with the music scores. The congregation would value and appreciate the music even more if the videos were shown in synch with the music.

Bravo! I remember how Lou Harrison subtitled his Symphony No. 4 "Last Symphony." When questioned about what would happen should he write a Fifth Symphony, Harrison quipped, "Then I guess I'd have to call it The Very Last Symphony!" Keep on producing. You know Shostakovich planned to write 24 Quartets, all in different keys? :O
