I’m in the process of finding a new foundation. I’m about to turn 50 and the foundation I casually wore for over 10 years isn’t doing it for me any longer as my skin and complexion and quite frankly, the options have changed. I even purchased one of the Sephora foundation sampler things. It was worth it, as I found any serum foundation never fully dries down on me. Much as I’d love to have Haus Labs or Saie, they do not work on my skin. But Fenty… now she worked weeellllll. 😊

63 yr old face here. Pretty decent complexion, normal to dry, some fine lines, no sunspots (on my face anyway). I have good luck with Believe Beauty sold at Dollar General. It’s like $5-in a nice glass pump bottle. I heard DG is discontinuing this line - which of course, cuz if I like something it’s the kiss of death. lol. So I bought 2 back up bottles last month. Their eyeshadow palettes are beautiful too. I also like Maybelline Fit Me-Dewy. These both just work for me and are at an affordable price.

My most used foundation was the Salt New York Sneaky Balm. I know it didn’t come out in 2024, but it’s so amazing. I love being able to create a small custom cream palette of complexion products. It works so well over sunscreen and can be built up to light-medium coverage. I’ll be 55 in July and have normal-to-dry skin, and I usually lie about my age. It is an essential part of my “no way you’re 50yo, you have great skin” routine.

My favorite foundation this year, that I tried for the first time halfway through 2024, is the Clio Kill Cover The New cushion foundation. Amazingly light-weight, so highly pigmented that I barely need any product, not the least bit drying in any way, and continues to feel great on my skin from early morning until late at night. I'm watching Stylevana and YesStyle so I can stock up on refills the next time they go on sale.

Will you please review typology tinted serum? I'd love to see if it's worth the hype!

The Haus Labs looked great on me at first, but then it settled into my forehead lines and made them look so deep. It was weird. I really want to try the About Face. I’ve heard really good things about it.

While I watched many favorable reviews of the Nars Light Reflecting foundation, Your review was the onc that influenced me to buy it. It is so foolproof. I apply it with a damp BeautyBlender.

I really like the fenty foundation too. Ive just bought the new clarins full coverage foundation. Its only day two but its beautiful. Good coverage with a lovely radiant coverage. Its highly fragranced though and i dont have a great sense of smell. However, if it continues to wear well, it could be my new favourite. X

I wanted to like the Haus Labs foundation but after two days, my face and neck broke out in a splotchy rash. After doing some resets, my best guess is the reaction was from the arnica. Arnica comes from the same family as ragweed. I am allergic to ragweed.

Good Snowy morning from Goochland, VA to the West Side Shelly! (Keep the snow over there, please!). Of all the foundations I tried this year, my favorite is the Rituel De Fille in 120 and the Dior Foundation Stick in 2CR. I also sampled the Ultra Le Teint Velvet from Chanel and plan to pick it up for my mostly normal, sometimes leaning dry skin. Love your reviews! I already got the Clairns Total Eye off the Ulta 50% off sale (Thank yoU) and now want to try the Rituel Conceal but not sure of color yet!

I’ve said it before, I ONLY use your recommendations! ❤ The Nars foundation is really good! In the summer I usually buy a darker shade of foundation, but the Nars is so expensive. Have you ever tried pigment drops? Im thinking about doing that for vacations and summers when I get tanned, but Im worried about the drops changing the formula too much.

I use affordable products, and the Elf Soft Glam foundation has been the one I have reached for the most. I have mature skin with a little texture, and it is normal/dry. I also use the Power Grip primer and setting spray, plus the Halo Glow Filter. Elf is getting a lot of my money these days!!!

Hi Shelly. I love the Haus Labs foundation. I had put it away for awhile, but pulled it back out, and am enjoying it. The original Tir Tir is still way up there. I just wore The About Face foundation yesterday. It definitely is a good one. LOL. You sound like me with the snow. I don't want to look. I believe it's snowing now.😢 I was not made for winter. We didn’t get as much as you this time, so I’m happy. Not a fan either. Which of the higher end brands would you recommend for 77 yo skin, dry, fine lines some wrinkles but not deep except nasolabial and marionette? My Estee Lauder is getting old (6 years) and thinking about a replacement.

Probably like one of the only person that doesn’t know my shade in Mac or F de Lauder

What other shades do you have in the Nars? I got Yukon on sale and it's a tad light on me. I've been mixing with my slightly too dark Elf soft glam and it's working pretty well.

I’m 48 (next week) with all that entails-a little under eye darkness, texture, some wrinkles, some sun damage normal skin, I think probably my fav foundation this year was the Fenty Stick- LOVE IT, also loved the L’Oréal tint. Definitely had some fails this year-ABH being the one that comes to mind. Been wanting to try the Fenty you mentioned so may pick it up but also the Ritual looks super enticing, will have to check out your review on that one, saw the concealer but missed the foundation. Thanks for the video, Shelly! I have very dry skin with redness from rosacea and some old sun damage. My favorite foundation this year is the Revlon Illuminance foundation. OMG that MUFE Hydra Glow foundation is one of your favorites? Have you looked at the ingredients? The first 2 are water and lemon extract!!! They're charging $47 for *lemon juice* , dabs of a few other things, and pigment!!! This stuff is one of the worst makeup ripoffs I've ever heard of! Also, lemon juice applied to the skin can cause photosensitivity if you get enough sun exposure. In other words, a chemical burn.
