Rebecca explains this really well!! I’m a 65-year-old man and a 6.5 EDSS and I’ve infused Ocrevus 7 times now. I have not noticed any long-term infusion reactions (other than the Decadron jolt the next day or two), BUT I have had consistently the during infusion reaction where my inner ears and eustachian tubes get super “pinchie” feeling that migrates to the throat. I tell them and they stop the drip and when the symptoms abate, we proceed. It takes 6-7 hours to get it all in. One time I had a nurse give me more Decadron to get past the infusion reaction, but I DO NOT recommend adding steroids a second time, since the next day my legs swelled, was super aggressive and did not feel well for a week or so. I asked my neuro if I could delay the infusion doing it less often and so our plan is to go 8 months now instead of the standard 6.

Great tips and advice I definitely want to try some of these supplements particularly the lions mane and turmeric. I remember in the first year my doctor was trying to figure out what was wrong I had numbness on my left side and of course in my legs.Because of the brain fog, fatigue and numbness I thought I might have had a mini stroke or something, then I brought up neuropathy but the doctor kinda scoffed at that. I knew something was wrong so I kept researching my symptoms. Finally I got some MRIs done and I got a neurologist to determine that I have M.S. My Grandpa died of ALS so I was worried I might have that because the symptoms are eerily similar. Luckily my Neurologist doesnt think I have that.

Oh gosh that is so intense and what a journey you have gone on. I’m so sorry to hear that and how long it took, as well as how your grandpa died😢. But I’m glad you got your diagnosis too so that the guessing game is at least over… some doctors do scoff at herbal remedies and I think that’s very sad because there should be holistic approaches to ms alongside the treatment! That’s why I think there’s no harm in trying these things and seeing if that can at least help the symptoms; even if they might not “fix” the actual disease progression

@@rebeccashain Thanks for the reply and your kind words. It sounds like you have been through quite a journey yourself getting diagnosed. It was sad the way Grandpa passed but he lived a good and interesting life. He was an American WWII veteran, he met my Grandma in Germany during the war and brought her back to America where they started a family in California. I heard my grandma actually gave up her dream of being an actress so she could put my grandpa through college and he became a fairly brilliant scientist that worked at Stanford University till he died of ALS in his late 60s.

Thanks for the tips and info.I was recently diagnosed a couple years ago though I was having symptoms for years but I never went to the doctor then about a year before I got diagnosed my balance and ability to walk got really bad not to mention the chronic fatigue and spasms. It took about a year before they finally had me do some MRIs and they found some lesions on my brain and spine. Now my Neurologist has me on infusion therapy for about a year now,so things aren't too bad just trying to adjust and stay positive. Thanks again for the tips!
