Randomly ran across this ... I managed to attend one of the days of this event. It was quite the event for sure. Thanks for posting, John!

That was a land mark event for Lime Rock 🏆 And thank you for capturing the unmistakable sounds of racing PORSCHEs cresting the back hill 👍👍👍👍👍🏁

Interessant a old Atlantic Series race, are you a race of 1986-87. I search old race Atlantic with Jeff Krosnoff for a future project.

Hopefully some day Des Moines can get another street race for Formula E or maybe Tony Stewart’s new series.

You grow up in the state, you drive the roads.... and because you were a decade late you miss out on seeing a race run through down town. Crazy seeing this. I now live a stone throw away from the old Greenwood Roadway race track in Indianola. Which of course I found out about just last year. (2021).

Always loved this series! I regret that I only got to attend one of their races. Del Mar 1989. Sadly, they had a big pile-up in turn 1 at the start of lap 2. Due to 30 minute race time limits, virtually the entire race was behind the pace car due to lengthy clean-up. *sigh*. If you have any more from this series, please upload 'em. Many thanks! :)

It would be great if Des Moines could get a Formula E race. I can’t imagine it would ever happen.

Guzman's hit broke my rear toe link. So, the left rear was toe'ing in and out - moving all around. Tried to hang onto the car and keep speed but could not. So, yes when I blew the corner under brakes I waved Pollock by because I knew the car was about to DNF. And it did the next lap. All from that Lap 1 hit. All because I lost Qualifying with the hit from that OTHER guy [leaving me in the midst of some less-than-front-of-grid talent]. Derek Daly was right. A frustrating weekend at a place I love. And another opportunity for a podium was lost from this race. [You watch and all these years later, the same emotions all flow back....]

I remember the year before when you won the race. You gave me your old driving gloves after you signed them for me. I also signed my name to your new gloves, and then won the race. Something I remember even after all these years, and was also a huge part of why I still love watching racing today!

Yeah, I thought that I saw the same thing. But Stephane Proulx was driving the Reynard in '87. I'll fix it since the announcer should know what year he was in. I didn't have it noted on the videotape.

again nice tempo, john, my modest advice would be increase focus on your flexibility to tenkan more and irimi more , and gain better footwork and lower body strength, u need to focus on your centering point on your every movement so u will have a more solid and balance movement, doing so u will be in more control over uke, the tips my sensei always give me is make uke move around u ,tori must be in control. Good luck all the best WILLIAM. malaysia
