Honestly I have never annotated before. It's just something about writing on my books 😅. I may have to try it out.
@melanieandbookstacks3 ай бұрын
I’m glad you enjoyed annotating. I don’t do it all the time but when I do I go all in with tabs, highlighters and writing in the margins. Love it. It’s like having a conversation with the author.

I love that perspective! I definitely want to write in the margins more. Just gotta push myself 💕

I just came across this video on my suggestion page. I live in Carlsbad and you should come up past Del Mar because there are tons of LFL’s with decent parking. Carlsbad, Encinitas, and San Marcos have a lot!
@kasseyher5 ай бұрын
what are your favorite north county nature & beach spots?
@Courtney65 ай бұрын
@@kasseyher My fav beaches are Cardiff/Swamis in Encinitas and Terramar in Carlsbad and also the Carlsbad tide pools which is next to there (when the tide is super low). South Ponto has a ton of rocks and you can find cool stones and crystals. I’ve also collected a lot of sea glass near the Carlsbad tide pools and a bit north of there (near cannon rd) but mainly in winter. Lake Calavera in Carlsbad has lots of trails and there’s an old volcano there you can hike up. Guajome park in Oceanside is another fav for hiking trails and there’s a large pond with ducks and geese you can feed (they love frozen peas). San Dieguito Park in eastern Solana Beach is probably my favorite park. It’s huge with hiking trails and lots of grass and trees in the lower section. I like to take my hammock there. :) Let me know if you have anymore questions. I prob won’t see a reply to this because my notifications don’t work but you can message me on IG at notestothewild. X

New to your channel & I believe you’re the first San Diego BookTuber I’ve seen before! I’m in San Diego north county myself, grew up here. Del Mar is actually within the city limits of San Diego, most don’t consider it north county, just one of the many (coastal) suburbs of San Diego. There’s several more cities/towns/county jurisdictions north of Del Mar to explore; we have FLL & plenty of free parking too so maybe I’ll see ya up here sometime! 😆

I adore Braiding Sweet Grass. I also loved her other book, which has very similar vibes but is less well known, called Gathering Moss. Funny that Kimmerer comes up in your video because just this morning a friend asked if I wanted her to get us tickets to see her speak at a nearby university. You bet I said yes! A book that my "more traditional" book club enjoyed was Remarkably Bright Creatures by Shelby Van Pelt. Almost everyone in the group liked it and yet there was still lots of topics of discussion. A book I just finished which I'd like to recommend to my book club is The Cemtery of Untold Stories by Julia Alvarez.
