I hate it when owners claim that their dog were attacked by porcupines while knowing damn well it was the other way around. People need to make sure their pets aren't just roaming around terrorizing local wildlife.

I’ll bet wherever it is that you live once thrived with wildlife that was destroyed so you could have a house there. Zip it hypocrite.

Awesome build. Filter system? They make external filters you could use for small pools that can retrofit into the plumbing you currently have. Also options for a solar pump/filter combo if you are looking to keep it clean year round. Throw an aerator pump in there for fun bubbles

Repowering my grader-6BT VE, doubles the torque and increases the fuel mialage from 1 to 10 miles per gallon, adapter required as is the case with installing a Cummins.

Is the pump needed for heating the water, or was that just for testing for leaks? I assume that natural convection will keep the water circulating while heating, right?

Do the front tires tilt vertically, for better control when pushing snow to the right? If they do, you'll have better control
@offgridathiddenhills40792 жыл бұрын
They don’t tilt, that would be very helpful. Thanks for watching

My grandfather had a grader like this one back in the 1970's. I wish he had taken for a ride in it. He was hired to build roads, and to snowplow in the winter.

Beautiful work Sir! You inspired me to start a summer project. Was just curious about the foam underneath because i would like to do the same. Do i have to worry about the weight of the tank when filled with water cracking or breaking the foam underneath? Sorry for the rookie question✌

The foam underneath has held up just fine. I don’t think you will have any problems. Good luck with your project. Thanks for watching

At the end of the video what is the creaking noise ? Is that you inside the barn doing something or does the hot tub just make that kinda noise all the time if you move around in it? In the process of making one myself just looking for some pointers. I love the insulation you put under and around it I had the same thing in mind.

Love the old Austin-Western Super 300 [6-wheel] motor grader !! Thinking of buying a 1969 Pacer 300 [4-wheel] with the 4-71 Detroit Diesel two-stroke engine....6000 hours. You may have just convinced me to do it. Got to love the 4-wheel drive and steer capabilities. Get earmuffs for the entire family. Tinnitus is bad news...for life.

I used to own an old 60s model 118 Galion with a 4-71. I would use ear plugs and muffs too, yet it would still blast. It was as though there was vibration that penetrated everything. Yes, I have bad tinnitus, but I've learned to cope. No choice.

Why didn't you guys just use the military truck and get a big ass snow plow to put on it just curious not trying to give you a hard time
@offgridathiddenhills40793 жыл бұрын
The road is pretty uneven with lots of ruts. We find it easier to use the grader because the blade is in the middle of the machine instead of the 5 ton truck. The blade would be way out front and it would dig in going up and down the hills. Thanks for watching

Just found your channel I from Atlantic Canada and work for the DOT I plow in the winter and run grader the r rest of the year. Before doing this I drove tractor trailer for 15 years I had a couple Detroits and your right they don't like the cold. To bad you couldn't get your self setup with a front plow V-plow or even a one way it would make your plowing a lot simpler but hay work with what you got great video got you subbed up.

simple solution, put in a block heater and park closer to the ele when it's going to storm.. been doing it with tractor for years,, if bitter cold and going to snow, I even have the charger so it will go on an hour before daylight, for many years I spent a couple hrs every time it stormed getting the things running., even used to take the battery inside nights so it would be warm.. got old, got smart. hope you haven't burnt up your truck battery or alt or grader starter yet..

That’s a great DIY project, insulating is something most folks forget to do. A thermostat to switch on and off the heat pump would be nice, and the crazy sound that we can hear when the tub is heating up is as a result of the metal tank expanding due to the hot water but has no room to do so since the wood panels are too tightly fit around the tank

One of the advantages the AW graders had was their front wheel assist. Allot of counties used them for this reason.
