A great video and an amazing place. Thank you so much for this. I have added this to our itinerary for our family (of introverts that don't like crowds too much) holiday in the future. A question please, we plan to go to Fukui from Nagoya by train, stay near the train station and catch a bus to the Dinosaur Museum. I looked up this temple, it seems close to the Dinosaur Museam, but there doesn't seem to be public transport to this temple. We don't wish to hire a car, so would a Taxi be readily available from the Dinosaur Museum? And then can we organise another Taxi easily from the Temple back to the Dinosaur Museum so we can spend the rest of the day there? I believe the "Go" app is best to get Taxis in Japan, is this correct? I have recently subscribed to your channel and I look forward to your future videos. :)

i think this is the best way i just googled it If you do not have a car, take the Echizen Railway Katsuyama Eiheiji Line from Fukui Station to Katsuyama Station (50 minutes, 770 yen one way, every 30 minutes) and transfer to a highly infrequent community bus along the Heisenji Line to Echizen Daibutsu-mae bus stop (20 minutes, 100 yen, every 3-4 hours).

Is this the first or second day of the festival? Which routes do all the floats take to get to staging area outside the castle? Do they all travel through Inuyama-jokamachi?

this was last year . this year will be 4/6-4/7 the parade goes all the way from the castle to the old town street. go early it gets crowded in the afternoon. enjoy!

@@NAGOYAKIMMakeYourLifeEasier Thanks for the reply. Yes, I know this year is 4/6 and 4/7. Is supposed to be the first weekend of April each year. Hotels in Nagoya are fully booked on 4/6. Luckily, I made my reservation over 7 months ago. I even made reservation on Meitetsu railway so I don't have to worry about being able to get on the train. Did you go on the first or second day of the festival? I notice the some of the floats were leaving the shrine already but there were still floats by the castle. I thought all 13 floats were supposed to travel to the castle on the first day and leave on the second day.

as i remembered we went on the first day . i didn’t count the floats, there were so many and it paraded till night because i saw my friends doing live forecast at night time. if I’m not mistaken the floats will leave on the second day

i believe besides renting a car, the only possible way to get there is to join the one day tour around fuji which includes shiraito falls.

@@NAGOYAKIMMakeYourLifeEasier Driving went pretty well. Picked up a car in Osaka and drove to Koyason and Nara. Those mountain roads were something but we survived and I'm glad I've done it. Koyason was great and went to a Coptic Orthodox church in Nara. Saw things we never would have seen without a car.
