thanks for this video. With rawtherapee I couldn't modify some color casts but with Art and this video I succeeded. a question, I also use darktable (which I find more difficult but which automatically gives me better results) if I had to choose only one program, which one would you recommend?

@@ShaneMiltonProductions Maybe you should make a video about how you got this game to work. Because on many sites (redit etc.) it says that this game cannot/will not run on Linux etc. I wouldn't want to install it myself, but there are certainly enough people interested. That would be an exciting direction for your Twitch channel (as far as I understand, that's what you're aiming for), to show the difficulties and, above all, solutions to them. So not only the difficulties in the games but also the difficulties in getting them to work. ;-)

The edit text after it's applied effect has been around in 2.10 which I still use; only that the prior effect would be gone after the text is amended but can be easily re-applied with Last Used Filter. The biggest improvement in v3 is being able to grab multiple objects in the Layers docker and stuff em in a layer group/folder the same way I always did in PS, which has been the biggest time consumer when dealing with 100+ layers like working on an NFT project. I'm glad it's no longer going to be a hindrance in v3.

As a fresh linux user, I had the exact same issue you mentioned at the start, trying to get specific workspaces bound to specific monitors. Turned out the fix was as simple as adding workspace = 1, monitor:DP-1 and so on to my hyprland.conf file and restarting hyprland, cheers.

That non destructive editing feature is really nice. I have never been good at image/photo editing so might look into learning more on that this year. If it wasn't for random university classes needing to use Respondus software to lockdown the system I would have been completely moved to linux at this point.

10:25 -- That's not a quirk of Darktable that the white balance temperature is inverted, it's because that module is before Negadoctor in the pixelpipe. So you are applying the color temperature before inverting with Negadoctor, which is why you are seeing that behavior.

Default config already, SUPER + [0,9] while cursor is on the monitor you want to create a workspace will create a workspace on that monitor. It will close however if you have no app on it when you move away. SUPER + SHIFT + [0,9] will move the focused app on that workspace and create it if it doesn't exist and will stay there even when you move away. Since i have 2 dual monitors, i barely use my second display, so i made it at workspace 9, so i could make my first one like workspaces 1-5, so it doesn't go 1,3,4,5. Only config change would really be to set which monitor is to the left, for example. If you want it to auto create and keep workspaces, there may be better way or you can just make a small script that runs on launch that would press keyboard shortcuts for you and launch the apps on them.

@ShaneMiltonProductions15 күн бұрын
Yes Davinci resolve studio works on amd gpus but under linux only nvidia is supported for gpu decoding and encoding and amdgpu and intel on linux you are using cpu for encoding video and opencl for effects.

Doesn't hyprland just create workspaces as you need them? In my config I have "bind = $mainMod SHIFT, 3, movetoworkspace, 3" (obviously for workspaces 1-9).. so if I hit shift-super-3 it'll move the focused window to workspace 3 (creating it if it doesn't exist).

I'm not an expert on hyprland but workspaces can be assigned to different monitors, since you're on arch you can use nwg-displays to configure the workspaces. It'll create a workspaces.conf file in your config/hypr folder and you can look at the format of that file and use it to setup things how you want

I could help but what do you mean by workspaces coming and going? I have my hyprland setup like gnome super + page down (or up) for switching work spaces and ofcource you can use super + digits to switch. I did find some edge cases with workspaces and multi monitor setups and you have to add to the config that workspace x belongs on monitor y.
@coyotepunk05Ай бұрын
Not certain why your workspaces are disappearing. It isn't an issue I have ever experienced. If you want to give a different bar a shot, I've seen some good stuff from hyprpanel with AGS. Definitely a less stable/newer program, but it has some very nice functionality. At some point I intend on switching to it from my waybar config.

Posters / booklets / product packing (printed on aluminum foil), etc. Darktable for RAW processing, photo-manipulation with GIMP, assembled using Inkscape, saved as PDF then using Separate for CMYK separation. I'm thinking to go back to Linux as my main OS - I've seen that I can use now Affinity under Linux and that's impressive. Back in time I was able also to use Dreamweaver under wine as my main tool for webdesign - before Adobe acquisition of Macromedia.
