Can you elaborate on the engine you are working on? Would it possibly be either a 55 or 56 Chevy 265? Those engines are designed with a bit different oiling system that "pulses" rather than pumping. They are designed so that oil is only delivered to the lifters and valve train if flat on the camshaft is aligned with the cam bearing oiling holes so you don't get full oil pressure all the time.

Exactly, it's counterintuitive, I just took apart my 2001 kx125 (same cases as back to 94 I believe) and after 55 hours the seal did its job perfect, never any leaks or issue w cross contamination w coolant/oil.....and just like you say...the bigger muddle seal goes in first w thinner lipped side facing up/packed w grease......and the thinner seal faced backwards, not forwards like would be the intuitive compulsory default thought tht most average mechanically inclined individuals would assume.....I even remember when I pulled the impeller my first thought was..."oh boy, looks like this guy may have put the seal in backwards".........and some arrogant narcissistic people would actually see tht, say it can't be right, JUST LOOK AT IT!!!..(AS IF Looking at nething is the one thing that defi itivley demonstrates the universes deepest secrets and thts all.u.need ro chaulk sumtin up as a "divine" entity, yet again making another quantum leap, or shall I say quantum dive into the abyss of arbitrary information).... "I'm putting the seal in the way it supposed to!!!!!"".....they say, and not even reference online or a manuel, just assume it's wrong.......uggggh half.the prob w our country these day

Vette originally had 3:70 gears. I accidentally installed 3:08 gears. I thought it felt kinda odd and slow when I measured the 0-100 I came up with 10 sec +/-. But I was measuring 0-120, not 0-100! Then I installed the 3:70 gears back in the car.

Yes, the guy is a Mormon and the post master in Prather, a Mormon town, is Mormon. Darla Lee, the post master, told him about me selling and buying books on Mormonism. Mormons hate contracts so he broke the contract I had with his wifes son to remove all the scrap metal on the place, He lost in small claims and in Civil. He spent over $180,000 trying to find a way to sue me.... that also failed!

At 40+ years old, it's sure to be those big capacitors in the power supply that are your problem. They have a limited life span. Replace all the caps including the filter caps with new electrolytics, and chances are you'll be up and and running again pronto. The values in microfarads don't have to match exactly, so long as they're the same as or greater than the old ones.

Thanks. The designer and maker of the amps died 2 yrs ago so I can't ask him for help. What are filter caps.... If I plug in the amp shouldn't the capacitors "fill up" and then I can measure their capatity or discharge them? I can perform basic "acts" but I know nuthin about functions/ design etc... I can rewire them for 8ohms, I know that much. But the Amp is very "clean", no noise, s/n-115db...Speakers are wired in series so he made a high impedance amp. Designer of amp designed entire U2 cockpit array's and installed them. Had patents in IR and microwave. these things were something he cooked up one day in his garage. I haven't touched them since I made this video and I was going to rewire as 8ohm. But I'd rather keep the amplifiers r box's c. 1980.

Yes. The problem here was the O ring was the wrong size and I had to search thru my collection of O rings to find one the would fit and allow the C clip to fit on the transmission shaft. P.S. > stay away from Hot Rod products, there can be issues.

I looked all over for parts. Cummins had us by the short hairs. But it doesn't matter now. The entire forest, some 700,000 acres, burned in 2019. The "Camp Fire" took out the entire San Joaquin River drainage. And this place was also being devored by pine beetles. But yes, we were had.

Just curious what type of solid lifter were you using ? There are a couple of types for Chevys. A piddle valve lifter where the oil hole in the lifter is located in the " Waist " or machined out area in the body of the lifter. These lifters expose this area to the lifter oil galley and will send a generous amount of oil to the top end. The other type is known as an " Edge Orifice " lifter that the oil hole is not located in the waist area but is a hole drilled into the body of the lifter that does not get as much exposure to the lifter oil galley. These Edge orifice solid lifters take oil from the clearance between the lifter bore and the body and are designed to Reduce the amount of oil going to the top end. Chevy used Edge orifice solid lifters as OE on some engines but most Chevy solid lifter engines used the much more common piddle valve lifter, The Edge orifice lifters were said to reduce the oil to the top end by 20 to 25% . This was back in the day when people thought that too much oil to the top end was a big problem and the edge orifice lifter was designed to help that so called problem. But I cant tell from the top of the lifter which type you have. Looking at the lifter out of the lifter one could identify it in seconds.

The cam was Camonics. I built the engine in 1989. I was told Camonics owner and Vic Eldebrock were friends. The cam (and lifters) were designed for Vic to use in some drag racing class. I never raced it. It had 530 lift and 300 duration both sides. Forgot the overlap..... the lope didn't come off untill 3500rpm. Reved real nice to 7800. I posted "The Last Fremont Drag Race" (1989?). had my 59 Corvette there.... had ignition miss, did 12.8@113. 3:70 gears... Should have done mid 11's. I only raced it twice. first time Fremont had just repaved and it was Slippery. The regulars just packe dup and drove home... I had 3:08 gears. first gear was 88mph! Spun all the way thru the 1/4.... 13.6@108. I sold this engine last year. Hope that helps.

make sure it fits without the piston ring on. install the ring buy itself and check the ring gap. Not sure what it should be but 004 should be ok. make sure the ends of the ring are on both sides of the little pin in the piston ring gap that keeps the ring from rotating in the bore

Hi. I don t remember, it's been 7 years. If you can't see on top of the housing I would use a mirror and look around the top of trans housing. As a Sidebar, this entire place, 12000sqft, burned in the "Camp Fire" of 2021. This was a 20 acre parcel. 500,000+ acres burned, the entire San Joaquin river drainage. No trees to suck up the moisture now.

I lived in the Santa Cruz mtns for 30+ years, until 2000 and the Sierra for 20+ years and I've wached it all burn:: At Loma Prieta end, at Big Basin into Last Chance Road, the Entire San Joaquin river drainage, some of it twice! and behind us now, the grizzly flat fire, burned all the way to Tahoe. Oh, and the Paradise fire, we didn't lose our home. But we sold it, it was a second home. Millions of acres. And I look at most of it as arson by bureaucracy and control burns. I'm really pissed. I have a bunch of tv channels i watch in Az, Ut, Co and that place is lit up like a torch all the time. And I have opinions of what the fire men did at the Superior Fire in Colo with a 1000 homes gone:: ON VIDEO the firemen drove away from the 12 Tribes shed burning with the burning brightly. No one asks why, who ordered them, where did they go. And so on.
