Great video but your trim has been rebuilt by someone else and not done correctly. The cap they used was the wrong one. The mark on it confirms this and I have seen this before. If there is a little pin on the end of the piston shaft head (the end with the ball bearings and springs) then you will need a cap with a machined groove. The pin is a pressure bypass that works when the piston is at full extension to stop you jamming the piston into the cap. it also allows air to be blead out of the piston. You run the piston all the way out and keep going for a count of 5 and this will blead the system. Now with all that said. It is possible to use the flat cap on one of these with a file and 5 minuets of work. First you need to remove the little pressure release pin and then file down flat the hump where the pin came out on the other side. You should now have 4 humps the same height. Now bath the whole thing (in what ever works for you) to get rid of any filings. Then reassemble. Put the bearings and springs back in (not the little pin). Mine also had spring guides but I have seen some with and without. Add oil to the reserve and run the piston out as far as it will go. You will have to do this a few times to bleed the air out but it will work. I did this to mine over a year ago and it has worked perfectly. Just remember to set your trim limiter so you don't jam the piston head in to the cap.

Your old trim cap is wrong ! Some one has been in that unit before you The cap that came from the factory had the groove in it and you are also missing the pressure relief pin Under one of the springs ... That witness mark or dot on your old cap came from it crashing into the protrusion on the piston assembly

a tip for use with remote gas tanks and push on hose --- eng will idle but not rev up --- check tiny o ring in hose cnn. both ends it will have a small hole in ring lets air in not gas to remove insert fish hook in o ring jerk it out put small amt, lub on new o ring push in easy to fix ----buy these o rings at boat shops keep spare in tackle box it may save alot of paddling some day

Dude….. I think your T/T has already been rebuilt already and the wrong cap used. Look at the pics in the instructions and see the difference of what the groove is supposed to look like. Not the same as your used cap.

My local shop will do it for 500 bucks with parts. I'm going there.

Not really, it will work just give that oil time to work. Don’t get impatient and get the torque bar on it if you haven’t let the oil sit or you will do more damage. Just understand if it seized you probably have a bigger issue somewhere.
