You need to replace the entire diff bushing. That means you need to take out the stock setup (many ways to do that some cut the steel sleeve) then get any of the diff bushings offered, BMR or Steeda. The ones you are using are cheap and will not help the problem. My opinion is the bolts will keep breaking at the weak point which is on the threads and at the end of the diff hole. I broke many. After I watch one of the big named companies show how you drill out the threads on the diff and use through bolts and nuts i never broke another. Also no tire hop, added an upgraded adjustable sway bar will top it off.

Bias plys will definitely soak up a lot of that drivetrain shock ad will help prevent part breakage. Radials are a bad idea on manual cars because it’s guaranteed to tear up parts like you did regardless of how much reinforcement you put. Manuals have too much force because you hit the tire hard unlike an auto that can preload the drivetrain before you launch. It’s ok though, it’s racing and stuff happens but yea stay away from radials on stick cars.

It's been a crazy year. Started saving for this kit and didn't want to break anything while I was saving. I was gonna wait till December to move forward with turbo swap, but Mike gave me a hell of a deal, and he was able to sell my Whipple and Kooks almost overnight.
@oliverbryan6883

Listen, no disrespect to Mike, but their break from Lund is the reason I I am not going with HPJ for my build. I'm not taking any side on the matter, and I know there are contentions from both side, but they are the #1 tuner for a reason. You have a very expensive build to be going to an in-house tune.
@TheHotSauceGT350
@TheHotSauceGT350 11 ай бұрын
I came in a rock and a hard spot. I love Lund and can ultimately go back to if I feel O'Grady isn't up to the task. The fact they had the split and discussion with Mike about it and understanding why "I can't mention here but you can reach out to him personally." I'm just in a rock and hard spot. I don't like the idea of being a go between a tuner and a shop that isn't communicating. I want HPJ to build my car because of their experience. I want to be able to drive it out of there and not have to be a 3rd party between Lund and HPJ. Honestly, if it were up to me... I'd put Mike and Sr./Jr. In a room and make them make it good again, but it's not gonna happen. So I decided I would let HPJ tune the car. If I get gapped by a Lund car, I can always go back to Lund. I am doubtful Mike would allow O'Grady to tune my car, knowing it would shit bricks on the dyno. But I respect your choice and decision. I am sure HPJ did lose customers because of this. I, however, will still rep them, and I have nothing but amazing things to say about Lund and highly recommend them as well.
@oliverbryan6883
@oliverbryan6883 11 ай бұрын
@@TheHotSauceGT350 I think that is very well said and well-reasoned. If I already had my car at HPJ, I am sure I would be similar to you. I had a great conversation with Mike and I just did not want to have the shop and tuner not able to communicate. I did not want to be the 3rd party, or have to lie to either HPJ or Lund about the other's presence. Tough situation all-around because HPJ is the go-to in the STL area, in-house tuning aside. When my 350 goes hellion, I am not sure where I will go because we do not have a great variety of choices.

I agree with you, not your pal. It should last 500,000 miles in my eyes. When you build an engine and most ford engines can run 200k if taken care of in a decent manner, the build engine is built for a reason. To withstand anything one can throw at it, within reason 1,000 hp is within reason with a built voodoo or coyote or 5.2 cross plane V8. Btw, who build yours??? Amazing build and ride brother!

Reach out to HPJ. They did all the work on my motor. The owner said that the main thing to look for is compression. He said the tolerances are tighter, but compression would be when to refresh the motor.

You know I never really understood racing in a straight line. I mean, it was me at one time... like 14-17 years ago lol. But now it's like "oh, well if I really wanted to beat you I'd just dump $40k into the motor with supporting mods and suspension to handle the power". So racing in a straight line isn't impressive anymore tbh lol. It's just horsepower, weight, and aerodynamics. Really has no skill anymore and when we talk horsepower these days, 700-1000hp is considered average lol. Kinda crazy how far we've come, but it's a no brainer that the person with deeper pockets will just have a faster car simply because of the build.

Quite a rant on a product, maybe deserved, maybe not. After watching the whole video, including the outtro roll. I noticed something. With all the upgrades to this car (and it a lot), to make 981RWHP/768TO, maybe you have just exceeded the shear strength on those bolts. Might upgrade to titanium bolts?
