Me and a few friends went to that gig. We met him in a shop before and advised him on what shades to buy. He did a good set and seemed okay on both occasions.

He ain’t wrong about recovering from heroin. I’m 10 years clean after close on 30 years use (injecting) and there’s barely a day that goes by when my brain doesn’t try dragging me back to those times. So pleased George has made a full recovery from those dark times.

George really has a very good voice but when it came to singing in the concert setting with the band I noticed he always went into more of a shout-out the words mode I think because it's hard to relax and just sing without being worried you will croak singing live. It's also somewhat hard to hear yourself really good on stage. But I've seen other settings where he sang live without the band where he sang just beautifuly! The settings where he seems more comfortable and confident he really shines! He can sing the higher notes but in the concert setting he seemed to always try and play it safe and alter the melody because he might have been afraid to go there vocally. He does sing smoothly and beautiful when he doesn't have to shout out over a loud band. Just my observations from his performances in live settings over the years. I love his singing and he has gotten even better with age!

Marilyn looks a bit tipsy (a little drunk?) here. They are BOTH charismatic, witty, and have their own appealing looks (I have ALWAYS liked George's LOOK). The big difference comes in their singing voices, George's voice is VERY distinctive, Marilyn's is NOT! That is the REAL reason George achieved world wide fame and Marilyn didn't.
