another really powerful ability of sophisticated backpacks is the experience pump upgrade, which (combined with a tank upgrade) allows you to siphon experience to and from the player, and, most importantly, can automatically repair Mending-enchanted tools and armor. It is _incredibly_ powerful and lets you turn nearly any armor into power armor, as long as you have the experience for it (and XP can get out of hand very quickly) plus the ability to adjust your XP level lets you get enchants very cheap

I remember my first impression on Ars Noveau was... Not the greatest. It was in an ATM8 server with my work friends and one friend in particular, who is often the chaos starter, got really deep into this mod. I let him visit my base in my early phases of the pack and he went "im gonna test out a new spell i created." Then promptly blew up half of my base. He helped fix it by placing like 5 blocks then signed out for the night.

Lets face it, modded ender chests are less a storage system and more a power free but insecure inter dimensional transport system.

I personally don't like sophisticated backpacks precisely because of its power. Its huge storage on you, with crafting, smelting, etc. And feels a bit like cheating to me. Traveler's Backpack, on the other hand, is a bit more costly but has a lot of personality and balance. You can see the backpack, use the water tanks with a hose, swap tools, craft using selected backpack slots, and expand your backpack through tiers. S tier for me.

i feel refined storage just for the item type limitation not being there makes it better than ae2 also i feel like it is less resource intensive and easier to set up now as far as ae2 goes i've not gone to deeply into it but when i did try it i never got to the auto crafting but if it is better i might think of using it maybe but i feel like refined has a pretty good auto crafting situation as is

I HATE mekanism’s power generation because it always ends up being the exact same setup that is too complicated and one error and KABOOM.

I love thermal if i’m going to go the tech route because it has the amazing fluxbore, which is easy to upgrade, never runs out of durability, and doesn’t consume a lot of power because you’re going to find a portable power solution that has plenty of power for the fluxbore quite quickly. It doesn’t have the best power generation by far, but it is a good start if you’re looking for an early game system to run your fluxbore.

I always end up having trouble deciding if I want to use a powerful power generation system like Powah or a fun one like Iron Furnaces. I also love to use Create’s power generation simply because it has a very special place in my heart due to being so charming.

AE2 is too complicated for its own good. That’s why I used RS instead, and then I use AE2 as needed for those times when I need crafting that is a lot faster. The fact AE2 has a limit on the number of items you can store in one disk makes it very impractical to use simply because in modded minecraft, you end up with thousands of different kinds of items you want to store. Sure you can use the disks that eliminate the restriction, but at that point I would say you should just use RS. I don’t know if you can interface between RS and AE2 but if you can that would be very useful because you could get the power of AE2 but the simplicity of RS.😊

btw you are going to need an absurd amount of sugar for those vector plates. Like crazy crazy amount. I had a big bee farm so I was fine but you can also put a witch in a simulation chamber to get sugar easily. Also a lot of iron, redstone, and diamonds since industrial foregoing is resource intensive. Needed for the mob grinders and upgrades.

Since it comes down to personal preference and I like to play on servers, Refined Storage, Sophisticated Backpacks/Storage, and Intigrated Dynamics fall flat. I always had problems with those mods, or because of those mods. Since it is my personal opinion I like to use Occultism as a "Backpack" to have all my tools on hand. While Applied Energistics 2 is my main mod for Storage. Over the years I got really good at having nifty setups ready to go and having basically every engineering problem solved before it even becomes one. Which sadly, I can not say for Refined Storage. That mod failed me multiple times a day and still got the same issues. So in my Opinion: use Refined Storage in Single player only, but on Servers please get away from it.

Worth noting, Ender Chests aren't really intended as a bulk storage option, and ranking them low for failing to be that (which again, is something they aren't designed for to begin with) seems unfair at best. Ender Chests are for item *transport*, and are the single best solution for doing so in any modpack containing any form of them (there are multiple Ender Chest mods, they serve the same purpose). They transport items instantly, across any distance, across any dimension, and entirely for free. You only need something to push/pull the items for each chest. They're so powerful that some modpacks (in particular the notoriously-difficult and grindy GT:NH) heavily nerf them by making them ridiculously expensive. Placing such an important staple for item transport in anything other than S tier is... baffling. EDIT (I was commenting before finishing the video, shame on me): DimStorage, which I hadn't heard of until this video, seems to also have similar cross-dimension functionality, making it also a good choice for item transport. That made me think a bit harder about my claim that not ranking Ender Chests at S is baffling, since they have some overlap and that brings their actual utility into question... Though overall, DimStorage seems to serve a slightly different niche than Ender Chests. It's like a weird hybrid between those and an AE/RS system. I think Ender Chests still have it beat for plain transport purely by their simplicity, but I could see it being very useful for a more complicated remote farm/factory of some kind... or if you somehow needed a bigger buffer for transport than Ender Chests allow.

Hey pikminfreak, It's true that EnderChests aren't a real storage tool I even considered skipping them however as they are also listed as "Storage" on Mod websites like forge I decided to rate them anyway. However there will be a logistics ranking in the future where it for sure will get another ranking ^^ However there is one thing you are wrong about, Dimstorage is exactly the same as Ender Chests just better. It's easier to pick the connecting storages through the frequencysystem, it has more space which is never a bad thing and it's even cheaper than ender chests. I will never use Ender Chests in pack that has DimStorage ^^
