What gospel do you teach pastor Mark
@turnfromsin2Jesus11 ай бұрын
Thank you, that is very sound teaching. I've understand that death of one who's not picked up their cross, surrendered all to follow Jesus is eternal separation from God. But hadn't thought of it as their 'payment' for their sin. Either way there is death, but how beautiful and amazing is a life walking Jesus. There are many trials and difficulties but we are never alone and have the blessed hope of everlasting life in Christ.

Jesus knew the Law better than all the Jews and their greatest teachers combined. He debated the teachers of the Law in the temple at the age of 12 and amazed them with his knowledge and took place because He is God. Also after His resurrection He went through the entire scriptures with the two disciples and their hearts were burning with Fire. Jesus spoke to the poor more than to the teachers of the Law not because He lacked any intelligence but because God has always had a heart for the poor and the marginalised. After all He leaves the 99 and goes after the 1. He is more pleased with a sinner who is sorry for his sins than he is about a righteous man boasting of his good works. Having said all that I have enjoyed your sermon brother. God Bless you.

Doesn't God provide us ways to cope?
@pastormark2396 Жыл бұрын
According to John Wesley, God provides "means of grace" to help us cope. Through various means of grace, God provides us strength and perseverance. The danger is when those means of grace become mistaken for the source of our coping. For example, seeing God's creative goodness in nature versus worshiping nature as the source of goodness. Or viewing community as our refuge rather than recognizing community as a gift God has provided. When community begins to demand obedience in exchange for safety, we must question Who actually provides safety - God or community. This is the way of the cross.

Why do you people still doubt?
@pastormark23962 жыл бұрын
We are born with faith but a sinful and broken world soon teaches us to protect our hearts with doubt.
