That’s a lot of faith in that wood pole. Genuine question. How do you know when it’s not rotten wood? How do you go about making sure is strong enough even after years and possibly decades of that wood pole being out there in all kids of weather?

How high was this? Your scissor lift would not reach? or you just showing the old-school way? (The manly way TBH) We stopped gaffing poles 20+ years ago in my area, but our stuff is not as high as this one looked.

I imagine in a real life scenario this line would be cutout utilizing these methods? I see a whole lot of potential in this video and it’s peaking my interest of being a lineman. Coming from a tree worker industry.
