My knowledge of times of trains is non existent although when I lived here years ago normally it would be quite busy between 7am and 12pm but I am not 100% sure tbh I just chanced it lol

Great video and neat crossing! Shame the original WCH mechanical bell on that 90s CSX install is dead. Do always enjoy seeing double crossings like this though.

Great video and nice catches! Always love seeing the SD40Es, the SD50 bodies they still have are always neat. Nice catch with that UP unit trailing as well. Nice shot of those intermediates at the start as well, I do like how most of the intermediates down here in the southeast on the ex-SOU lines are lit 24/7. The second intermodal was definitely a high-priority one as well, based on the ToFC on it.

Thanks mate! It was strange seeing them both non stop cause I remember trains always used to for crew swaps. The SD40E was cool to see although I do miss the old GP38-2s not gonna lie

Great video! I see you saw the locals and their "impressive" driving skills there, lol. I'm guessing with that first MOW equipment move they'd triggered one of the approach circuits but not the island circuit, which is why the crossing had the time-out rather than deactivate. Nice to see that the WCH mechanical bell there in Folkston is somehow hanging on, despite just how rough it sounds these days. I'm surprised CSX ain't replaced it yet. Regardless, I'm glad you had a fun time there when you visited. I know I had a great time when I was there, back in 2021, though I only stuck around Folkston itself long enough to film the three crossings through there. I see you got to see plenty of mid-train DPUs too, lol. For anyone curious, Folkston, GA, is in far SE Georgia, just a few miles north of the Florida state line, and is located on the CSX "A Line", the former Atlantic Coast Line mainline between Richmond, VA, and Tampa, FL. This spot is where probably a good 99% of CSX's traffic in and out of Florida rolls through, the CSX PD Subdivision on the other end of the panhandle I believe only handles a couple of trains a day that run between the ends of the line at Flomaton, AL, and Pensacola, FL, as CSX spun-off their trackage across the panhandle (the P&A and Tallahassee Subs, along with the southern part of the Bainbridge Sub) to the Florida, Gulf, and Atlantic back in the late-2010s. Of course, all of the Amtrak trains to/from Florida (the Silver Star, Silver Meteor, and Autotrain) also all go through here. The trackage through Folkston is specifically part of the CSX Nahunta Subdivision, which runs from Jacksonville, FL, to just outside of Savannah, GA (where it becomes the CSX Savannah Terminal). On the north side of Folkston, at the pair of wayside signals seen, is where the CSX Jesup Subdivision branches off. It runs northwest to Waycross, GA, a major CSX yard/shop, and then curves back northeast to Jesup, GA, where it runs back into the Nahunta Sub. A lot of the through-traffic going to the northeastern US will continue on the Nahunta Sub up to Savannah while the traffic to Waycross and the through-traffic up to the midwest and west will go up the Jesup Sub to Waycross.

@@DPTrains No problem! I wouldn't mind going back down to that part of Georgia again, TBH, though, if I do, I'm probably gonna focus on the Fitzgerald Sub (Waycross to Manchester, GA) first. (I will admit I've added some extra info to my comment since posting it that I'd remembered after posting.) And yeah, it does get pretty hot and humid down here in the southeast, especially during the summer! AC and plenty of water (or iced tea, if you prefer that) is a must, lol.

Great video and catches! I believe the Palmetto services terminate at Savannah. I know the Autotrain also runs through there. Shame the GS Type 2 there sounds like it's died, it had an unusually fast tone for a GS e-bell when I recorded that crossing back in 2020. Sounds like CSX replaced the NEG e-bell on your side as well.

The linespeeds between Edinburgh and Aberdeen marked with 'HST' apply to 158, 170, HST, Azuma, and Voyagers. So it's 100mph through the crossing in both directions, however it's not attainable on the up line because it becomes 85 at West Ferry for Harecraig UWC. The 100 on down line is almost attainable, but only with an HST. A 170 doesn't reach 100 til Monifieth / Barry Buddon.
