Thank you for that, i was learning derivatives and could not understand how the lecturer was getting f'(x) = 6 + h when i was getting f'(x) = 6 + h^2. Turns out i forgot i had to factorise (2hx + h^2)/h into ( h(h+6)/h ) before cancelling. Makes so much sense now

Hello I’m looking at the problem you did for 10:36 it seems like your work would be wrong thought it would be squrt of 36 . Squrt of 2 then you simplify the the 36 to 6 getting 6squrt2

If I am correct the reason why we cannot cancel 2x from the expression is because 2x+6y is one single expression, whereas 2x is another expression and theyre not the same?

Hey, if you can, could you explain why I cannot cancel out the b in the expression a+b/b? Why cant i cancel both b's and just get an answer of a? Thanks

because "b" in that case is just a part of "a+b", the plus sign makes it inseparable, if it was a*b/b you can cancel "b" out

I am completely new to algebra and I know some of the basic rules. However, I saw this problem in a video: (3x * √x)/x The woman in the video cancelled out the x in 3x and the x in the denominator, why? Can someone explain? :D
