Any arising intracranial mass, such as a hematoma, a tumor or a parasitic cyst etc, becomes newly included in the pie chart, and with its growth will proportionally lower the volume of other, anatomical and physiological contents of the intracranial space. The intracranial space has multiple compensatory mechanisms by which it resists the rise of the intracranial pressure: 1. Reducing synthesis of the cerebrospinal fluid, 2. Increasing the reabsorption of the cerebrospinal fluid, 3. Moving a certain volume of the cerebrospinal fluid from the intracranial space to the spinal canal, 4. Increasing drainage of the dural sinuses and intracranial veins into larger veins outside the intracranial space, 5. Moving the structures of the brain. Something to add. We use cervibroom if not pregnant, post menupausal and had procedure done on cervix and if you dont see the transition zone. Rotate it 5 times but in above mentioned conditions use spatula to take sample from ectocervix rotate once and brush for endocervix rotate 1/4 to 1/2 times.
