The truing procedure he gives leaves a lot to chance. The bunks weren’t in line with each other, or level side to side. I would say look at those as well before tightening the splice plates.

Excellent. Thank you. I have a saw mill coming up to mill a large Whiteoak and a Pine. Had no idea how to dry the planks until I saw your video. Your descriptions and tutorials are excellent.

I'm a middle-aged woman in Sweden with a desk job, living in an apartment. I think it's safe to say that I'm never going to be cutting my own timber or planks. But I still appreciated your video very much, it was very interesting to learn about the process.l Thank you for a very informative and nice video.

What is the purpose of these? Is it worth the investment instead of just buying from a lumber mill?

16:40 The end frame on the starting cut ind of the mill requires a spacer plate between the frame and rail because there is no cross bunk there.

I air dry my peeled red pine logs 10" and smaller for at least a year before I mill them. Makes for strait and untwisted timbers when done. Only my mill is the "DeWalt Radial Arm Sawmill. kzbin.info/www/bejne/haKal4KalLRor68

At 24:04 you say put track bolts from outside in, so a carriage bearing won’t hit. But at 25:13 & 25:43 the bolts can be seen going from inside out, and again almost at the end. Your finished product clearly has the bolts from inside out. I referenced the video and saw them going from inside out, and have them all in that way. They’re still loose. Do I need to turn them around? This is contradictory information in your video.

I enjoy your videos, very informative. I’m putting my HD36 together. I have the rails and bunks loose still, cross brace and those 2 jacks are tight, as are the stainless pieces on the cross bunks. Getting other jacks ready to go on. I have one extension, question, how are axle and jacks positioned with an extension? Norwood doesn’t seem to show that. I have 8 jacks. If I evenly space the jacks best as possible, they’re not next to the cross bunks. Is that okay? I don’t like the look of the axle in the same position with an extension, too much distance between tongue and wheels. Does it really matter where I move it to? Is the cross brace the only spot spacers are used, and nuts sandwiched in between?

Only 14" logs? When is a PM26 or PM30 coming out? When that happens you might have a customer, 14" is a very small log in my woods, I won't even cut anything that small.
