The Elf King can and should do better than her. How is the trope call ,that she represents, untill she finaly admits she loves him?

Honestly, while I liked Tress, I don’t get the hype compared to his other works. It was filled with a lot of Easter eggs for other books that had I not known them, I don’t think the end would have made any sense. Then again, I enjoyed Godkiller immensely for its well drawn characters, relationships, and world.

Loved loved loved The Will of the Many. I ODed on Romantasy and the good news is that it slingshotted me back to good ole scifi and the sort of books featured here…the rest of these are going on my TBR, thank you very much.

It's pacing. House of Sky and Breath is fast-paced, action-packed, and the plot clips along; Priory is a lot slower, building momentum gradually, and the plot revolves essentially around getting POV characters all in the same place and on the same page from very far-flung locations and very different situations.

As a book formatter, there's a lot of power in layout! Font size matters, yes, but Priory has 37 avg lines per page, Sky&Breath has 35 with larger margins and wider characters for the font. Online estimates puts priory at ~40k words longer. The writing styles are very different which is huge, but formatting can play tricks on the reader 😅
@Books_and_Crafts

@@VivienReis yeah seeing both of these books side by side physically, and having read them both cover to cover… Priory has larger font, less words per page, more blank space on the sides of each page, and thicker paper. It should not be as long as it is lol. 😂 so really unsure of your facts here as they don’t add up to the physical copies in front of my eyeballs

Yeah iron flame just felt like filler story to me, I read it on release and kind of wished I waited until the 3rd one was out now. The pacing was weird and there really wasn’t too much going on. I also listened to the audio and HATED IT, the narrator isn’t awful but her pronunciations were. Some characters have Irish/Scottish names and I’m an Irish native and it was really off putting that she didn’t look up the pronunciations for example, Catriona is pronounced like Katrina, it’s the Irish and Scottish version of Catherine and the narrator was saying “cat-tree-ow-na”. Really difficult to listen to when you know like 20 Catrionas in real life😭 praying book 3 will be better and I’m sticking to the physical copy this time 🤣

In October...we'll be getting another Prince novel which sounds intringuing...and I've enjoyed reading Eric and Philip's side of the story. The next one is Prince Charming or as they'll be using his 1971 Disney on Parade name Prince Otto Auguste Ferdinand of Charmant. The summary sounds like Cinderella & Auguste: PI's of Romance. Or if you wanted to use his other name well yeah if you had a name that long you'd shorten it to Kit too right?

Fun fact: in actual greek mythos theres really only one myth where hades is evil (when he kidnaps persephone). Also i think the hercules movie wouldve been 100x better if it followed the story lime rhat his twin brother (fully mortal( was the evil one. They couldve left out the part abt bim killing his family
