I was so disappointed to see your video. I was a Realtor in Fort Worth for more than 20 years and I grew up in the stockyards. Not only did you not name any of the best restaurants in the Stockyards you chose Riscky's which is the worst restaurant in the Stockyards. Best Steakhouse: Lonesome Dove, CFS; Horseshoe Hill, Star Cafe (also the oldest restaurant in FW, opened around 1900), best Mexican; dos Molinas and best atmosphere; Joe T's.

This dude hasnt been in Fort Worth very long. As a NATIVE from Fort Worth since 1966 I can tell you which places you should visit in order and which to avoid: Best: Coopers BBQ. Locals will likely tell you Coopers is a "newcomer" but that is only correct as far as Fort Worth goes. The original in Llano has been in business a lot longer than either of the Fort Worth places like Railhead or Angelos. Far superior meats to either place although go to one of the other and get a FREEZING cold mug of beer. Just order "one large". Second Best: Joe Ts. Locals will ALSO call this place a tourist trap but its really not because of the history and pretty good Mexican food. Just be sure to order "the Regular Dinner" as opposed to fajitas or anyhting else. Atmosphere is awesome BUT do not wait more than 30-45 minutes to get seated its not that good. Average and Overpriced: Cattlemans Steakhouse. Lame and WAY Overpriced: Any of Tim Love's places. AVOID at all Costs: ALL Ricskys places whether BBQ or steak. NO locals or Texans ever eat there. And that "All you can eat "beef rib" plate is a RIPOFF because those are the back ribs with mostly gristle and fat and VERY little beef. Nothing like the "dino" beef ribs you see on good BBQ places on TV.

@@darrengladwell Your welcome sir. Any further tips om food places in Fort Worth just ask. Here's a bonus for ya. Camp Bowie Blvd. runs west from downtown roughly parallel to I-30. It's a really cool street to drive because a good portion of it is old bricks and the section between Hulen Street and Bryant Irvin Road has some of the best "old school" FW places to eat for various items and the BEST one is.....Zeke's Fish and Chips! YES a little bitty hole in the wall that has specialized in fried cod for the past 50 years! Flown in fresh from Iceland 5 days a week. You need to order the "Two piece Cod combo" which gets you two GIANT pcs of fish and two fried veggies and hush puppies. My fave is mushrooms and eggplant. Tartar and "dill" sauces are awesome. I've had fried cod in a lot of New England places and this beats them all. Other really good places are The Original Mexican Eats Cafe, Kincaids Hamburgers, Mexican Inn and El Fenix. (Always order cheese enchiladas at FW mexican restaurants and NEVER fajitas). If you are in town on a Wed. you have to go to El Fenix for their $5.99 Enchilada Dinner.

When negotiating during option, if the seller declines buyer’s request to fix the roof, what options does the buyer have? Can the buyer continue with the original contract to buy the house and fix the roof himself? Or once the seller declines, the buyer has to look for a new housing?
@timaroundtown7336
@timaroundtown7336 3 жыл бұрын
Good question. It depends on the buyers ability to purchase the home in that condition and a matter of insurance coverage. If you are buying with cash and the home does not have to appraise then you could move forward and buy the home and fix the roof yourself. If you are getting lending it would depend on the appraisers opinion of the condition of the home and how they report that. The answer really is specific to the buyer and the financial position of the buyer.

@@timaroundtown7336 As someone who first ate at Joe Ts in 1967 when the dining room had about 12 tables I can honestly say that Joe Ts is BOTH a touristy place as well as a decent FW Mexican restaurant IF you order the "Regular Dinner" ONLY. If someone wants fajitas you can get that ANYWHERE as good or better for much less money and time. The best Mexican dinner you can still buy in Fort Worth (or even Dallas) is still El Fenix on Wednesdays for their $5.99 Enchilada Dinner.

You oughtta try them calf fries Mexican style. Throw them in and fry them up in a little bit of oil or lard (your choice) with a pinch of cumin and garlic, some onion, tomato and cut up jalapeños with some salt and pepper. Cook’em till they’re done to your liking and warm you up some tortillas and make some tacos with some salsa in them. Now your talking! Buen provecho!!!🤠

This is nice. I think that you get a lot for your HOA. The only real put-off is that the community is a little large so it is likely that the club house and amenities require a drive. For as low as the fees are, I guess that is a small downside but investing in a golf cart to get there can tack on a few grand.

Texas isn't Texas anymore. We use to have beautiful ranches and farms as far as the eye could see. But now they have all been cut up into postage stamp lots, cemented over and McMansions built on 0 lot lines. Red lights on every corner and traffic is at a stand still. We now have the 6th highest property taxes in the nation. Now before you comment and say, yeah, but you don't have a state income tax. That is true, but is your state income tax 48% of your income? Because that's what I now have to pay in property taxes!

I was born in Fort Worth in 1949 and I remember the weather was totally different than it is today. I remember walking to school in the first week of September in the first grade, it was a block and half away, I actually had to wear a semi-heavy coat to school because it was so cold there was frost on the ground. By the time I walked home it had warmed up to a comfortable temperature. There were four seasons back then and basically it got really cold and stayed cold until mid -May! It usually snowed two or three times every year until around the mid 80s. And the snow would be on the ground for an average of a week or so. It also was pretty common for the temperatures to get below freezing sometimes for two to three months at a time, with no break. I remember in the early 80s it got below 10 degrees below zero for couple of weeks and most of the water pipes in Fort Worth froze and broke, it got a lot colder than the pipes were designed for. I remember having to go to the May Fest in Fort Worth the first weekend of May having to wear a coat as late as 1980 or so. Now the summers were totally different too. It was a dry heat, hardly no homes had air conditioning, I actually went from 1st grade to the 12th grade with no air conditioning in the schools at all, and it really wasn't that bad. Not one of the schools in Fort Worth had air conditioning. Most cars folks bought back then didn't have air conditioning, really didn't need it! It got hot for sure but the heat like it is today, didn't exist! Folks didn't die in their homes from the lack of air conditioning, it wasn't hot enough. That's how much the climate in Fort Worth has changed in my life time.

I wish I could get behind this community. But I can't get over the fact that it is *directly* across the street from the landfill. It used to be a low lying marsh. I don't know how they control the wind from the landfill. How does the man-made lake not become a runoff of the landfill, which is higher in elevation and less than a hundred yards away? It might be fine for some people who want to spend $300k-$500k to be close to Jerry World and don't mind the landfill. I just couldn't go in the lake, and I'd be concerned about the wind.
