I am very happy with my Epic 3. There is a great deal to learn as it is very different from the Epic 2 which I now use for sewing. The main thing to consider is the space you require. See this video:- Husqvarna Designer Epic 3™ Day 33 dimensions kzbin.info/www/bejne/pqOYiHuuoq6Ui5I

Happily I have a good deal of space. Hubby just finished our 22 x 12 attic into a sewing room and I have 3 8-footx4-foot tables arranged in a u-shape for my machines.

Trying to understand...I can do the GFE-RSA-3 in one hooping. From your instructions, it looks like stabilizer and tulle or organza is being used in the one hooping it looks like the arms would be stitched down on the skirt, is that the intention? Also, when completed, how would the back be finished? Am I just clipping the threads? Or should I put something under before a final stitching? Do you have a completed example of the GFE-RSA-3? Or does all this get stitched to additional pieces? I am just confused...any additional information would be great. Thanks
I think Hazel forgot to remove the spacing between the original and the duplicate to make the final design combined.

Again.... is the machine preloaded with thread colors? How are you changing the colors? How many colors can it hold? Where is the thread? Changing by hand after each color?
@GracefulEmbroidery3 ай бұрын
I have an app on my phone which tells me when a colour has finished! It allows me to do other things while my embroideries are stitching out. The machine stops at the end of each colour way and beeps too, displaying a message telling me which thread to load next. Hope this answers your questions. Thank you for watching.
@AS-oj3cw3 ай бұрын
Sorry this is stupid but where are all the different color threads? I dont understand, are you loading the colors before hand? How many colors can this hold? So confused
@GracefulEmbroidery3 ай бұрын
The threads are placed on the top of the machine. There are 2 spool holders. I have to change the thread for each new colour as directed on the screen. Only commercial embroidery machines do this automatically.

I was going to leave the comment that I did like your yellow flowers when you added the light mellow green centers but then you popped a message up near the end stating as such. I was wondering if you used spray to adhere your silk to the stabilizer. If you mentioned it at the beginning I missed it. KZbin keeps buffering and I lose part of what you say or do because of this. Asking this question because when you put the hoop on the machine your fabric stayed in place before adding the basting. Thank you for the freebie--it is beautiful.

As you said, each time, when I see a video or work with the machine I learn something new. The overview of the embroidery settings being different from the design settings was really a learning point. I noticed that in the overview settings shown -you did not have the DSS system selected but yet in the design stitch out, the DSS was enabled. I say that because the tension rating showed 50% rather than the number either the 2.5 or 2.6. What is your preference in embroidery stitch out? Do you use the DSS setting? Any insight you or other commenters have is appreciated.
@GracefulEmbroidery5 ай бұрын
I have not played with the DSS settings as yet. it is not something I have ever adjusted on my other Epics. I will have to check that out and maybe do a video on that at some point.

A beautiful design, thank you Hazel. I will stitch it out soon, probably in purples and lilacs. I need to go through my silks and see what I have left; I haven't replenished my silk fabrics for a while. I am considering an Epic3 as a replacement for my Brother XV, which although I love it and it is still perfect in every way, does not provide the huge embroidery area of the Epic3, meaning I cannot stitch out those designs. I am not used to a plastic embroidery foot; have you ever had one break? Also, would it be possible for you to show us how the precise positioning feature works on the Epic3, please? I don't have a Husqvarna dealership around me, so I can't visit to play with one.
