What type anchors should you use? I can see how a metal expansion anchor / wedge / drop types etc would work well in dense concrete - e.g. cast insitu conc, but those blocks often contain a lot of voids, unless they are particularly dense aggregate. Those anchors will not work in medium density blocks made from say blast furnace slag aggregate, and definitely not aerated lightweight blocks. So what anchor would you recommend where conventional metal expansion types would not be suitable? Can you use nylon plugs or resin and still expect the same fire duration?

Those plastic gutters are worthless after a few years. Replacing my plastic with metal.

Did mine on a 12 ft timber shed. I put a water butt under the downpipe for collecting rainwater. The string tip is a great idea (make sure the your baseboard is level) Works a treat. Well designed products.

The obstruction in the downpipe would make this product a debris trap and non compliant when fitted in any area of the World that has minimum downpipe sizing regulations. Also, storing rainwater in a tank/vessel that does not have mosquito/pest/vermin proof mesh protection is also prohibited in regions/countries where there are proper regulations. Whereabouts was this video made? The house exterior doesn't look third world but the product certainly is!

The result of stringlining into the outlet is that the line rests on the rubber seal which, upon installation, is compressed and this results in an increased fall between the final bracket and the outlet. I note you make this symmetrical by having an approximately 1mm fall (in 200mm ish = 1:200?) on the short section of gutter on the other side of the running outlet. To me the increased fall looks wrong, but I wonder if this is for a technical reason? What I don't understand is why a quality manufacturer such as OSMA forces installers to rely on eyeballing (6:02) the union bracket to ensure correct alinement. It would be great if a manufacturer would consider a way that the position of the union bracket could easily be marked to be precisely in line with the run of the gutter (perhaps the bottom of the union bracket might finish in line with the bottom of the adjacent support brackets?). Perhaps that might be a future project for your R&D department?

It’s not personal preference, what a stupid thing to say, one is absolute crap and the other one is a good weld seal that will never leak.

At no point did he talk about the gradient of the pipe in the foundation, but then this was shot 8 years ago!

Thank you for this helpful video... I just wondered how you calculate the mathematics for the fall gradient of the guttering. Do you times the length of the gutter by the 1.6 mm rule or is it another equation to reach the total overall fall? I am finding that part of my project rather challenging so any advice would be very much appreciated🤔?

If you have a long length of pipe with five joints and each of the five joints has been backed out 12mm this could cause a problem, when expansion takes place each joint could get pushed all the way into it's socket, but if contraction takes place on just one of the joints the pipe will get pulled completely out of that socket :(

Don't believe a word of it. When these fittings have been on for a while you'll never get them to release should you need to ! Even when you've bought the special key tool. Find a more reliable system !
