Hi i have old 12.5 Briggs with side plate Gov that seems ok and smooth running and loose when idle throttle then tight at full throttle BUT i can only get 1/2 power and push throttle further and no change. So does this mean the govt arm has slipped a little in that clamp OR the govt spring needs adj- and how? If i move the Gov arm myself, i get full power so its not moving far enough through that spring? thanks

BEST MOWER EVER FOR THE JOB. Runs so smoothly. Shame Victa didn't set the engine up properly so some of the mowing crap didn't clog up the cooling fine via the drive shaft hole in the baseplate. And make a reliable twin ignition coil.

Still remember giving Dad one of these mowers for Xmas with Mums help. So reliable, lack of parts killed it, always ran it slow, no catcher.😅

Almost, but not quite, the world's most useless mower. The axle shaft sits right in the centre of the discharge chute so it's only good for keeping your bowling green in check. Mine is the green and cream model. Good muffler, perfect catcher. 15 years ago mine cost a lot more than scrap value I can tell you. I can't remember how much but it was well over $500 possibly even getting on for $1000 and it was non running. Took it to a small engine mechanic and he said, "I can fix this in 15mins." Apparently the crankshaft was redesigned in the later ones with larger counterweights to aerate fuel in the crankcase. In my model the fuel would pool in the crankcase and it would never ever start if that happened. It was a known fault he told me. So all he did, was he removed the carb and reed valve turned it on its side and perhaps 80ml of fuel poured out. He cranked it a few times with it still in pieces, reassembled it, pulled the cord and it fired up on about the 10th or 11th time.

lovely job mate on the mowing and yep those Victa,s are a gem now and yep the worst spark plugs to use and from my view those ones are Denso Torch and Bosh ones and yep not really meant for a engine like mower or even anything else on the small engines out there and i think i read somewhere these are known as gas guzzlers because of the two piston design etc.

good stuff mate and yes you can weld up that other one which is very possible etc.

I've got the chassis with the engine but no cowling or catcher. Seems a shame to scrap the chassis. They made an ultralight engibe out of these back in the day , kawasaki pistons and a Tillotson carb off a chainsaw I believe. Bit of porting and they were good for 20Hp I think.

*The reputation of these little inverter generators is legendary✬✬>**share4.photo/Y22Inverter?ЛЪ** I have two, so I can parallel them and have a 35 amp outlet on the Companion model. The best compliment is imitation and many companies have copied this design, thanks.*

Chinese generators are getting better, but if your using it everyday or extensively a honda will last way longer and be easier to fix. For just occasional use in the garage or backup power these are fine though.

Sounds beautiful at full sing. You are nifty with the impact starter. I remember a kid used our neighbour's Corvette for the first time back in the 80s, and he'd never seen a starter like that before. His family had new a thumb latch powertorque the time.
