Fantastic video! Our MSP’s success stems from strategic tech choices. We’ve struck the perfect balance with Datto for RMM, dependable backup solutions, cutting-edge security, and Thirdlane Multi Tenant PBX for superior unified communications. This comprehensive toolkit has driven our growth and enhanced our efficiency.

Now you use Windows Defender, Datto RMM w/ ransomware, and Huntress?

Yes in theory - but its truly horrible in practice. Endless sync-errors and multiple versions generated by different users. Slow to update changes across locations. Lack of AD-level control over users. And if you have a business that is not located close to a Microsoft Datacenter - good luck with that. There is simp0ly no substitute for a fast local directly-connected share for end-user experience. Now for the worst part - just because you have a 365 for business subscription does not mean its easy to replace your local AD setup. Creating a granular and controlled OneDrive "local-share" replacement is simply not possible with the options he display in his microsoft-offerings example at 0:40 . You will need to look at the enterprise azure-connected solutions (premium or E5/A5) to get that. If you are thinking about migrating your small-business client to "the cloud" using this 1TB of storage included in such subscriptions, think very carefully about how much time you want to spend administering that potential nightmare. To put it simply - you will be giving end-users the ability to "edit" a share, including deleting it and screwing it up easily. My advice as an small MSP is to usae OneDrive purely to redirect the end-users desktop and documents and avoid using the file-server replacement concept. Unless they are willing to spend on an Enterprise license.

Fantastic video! For MSPs, choosing the right tools is essential to achieving business success. A robust RMM, reliable cybersecurity solutions, and for our telecom needs, we consistently rely on Thirdlane Multi Tenant PBX, which has become our go-to choice. Having the right toolset makes all the difference in delivering top-notch services to our clients.

Total disaster. Had to change our corporate credit cards after more than 15k in false charges. I feel for the poor Datto staff going through this.

So 10 months later, is Huntress still in your main stack ? Also, what feature would you like to see in Huntress to help your day to day operations.

Been with ConnectWise PSA/RMM for almost 15 years. Making a change back to AutoTask and possibly Datto RMM. ConnectWise has been fine with PSA, but every time they upgrade ConnectWise Automate (RMM), they seem to break something. Their support mentioned that they no longer support Windows Server 2012R2 which forced me not to renew their RMM since many of our 24x7 customers are on that OS. I don’t like the idea of acquisitions, but with ConnectWise, I’ve been through around 7 or 8 reps in my 15 years with them and ConnectWise hasn’t been acquired by anyone.

For email filtering/url/attachment protection, in your remote only plan, are you using MS services with business premium, or 3rd party products?
