This is when the Pogues (as a band) were at their best. A great capture, of a great moment, of a great band, at a legendary event. Proper punk rock Dubliners (even if the live sound man mixed Spider's whistle a bit loud? Lol !) :) U2 weren't too shabby coming on a bit later either?

Studying history of Ireland in the 1930s, blueshirts etc, come across Frank Ryan fighting on the popular front side and the Spanish civil war. And I go ahhhh so thats what shane was writing about back in the 80s in sickbed

Such a shame he let the lifestyle and drink and drugs consume him so much! Herion and alcohol can help creativity but only for a short while, once you need it you don't care about creativity why he ne er wrote agood song fir well over 30 yrs and the same for most rock stars, they all do there best stuff while enjoying it. Bob Dylan is the only one to recover and get his muse back
