What he says about a master asking for money is according to Ramana a very good indicator that this is not a real enlightened master, made me think about the huge fraud that Eckhart tolle is, charging a lot for his conferences and making literally millions. And all with quotes he just copied from other masters!

When you mentioned your friend who had disappeared in the war, you touched on a question that I have been asking myself. The question of evil. What does the advaita have to do with the existence of evil? Thank you!

In Godman's translation of Ramana's "Who Am I?" essay, it clearly states the value of such practices: "when the mind is trained to hold onto any name or form of God, it will only cling to that.… As thoughts subside one-pointedness [of mind] is gained. A mind that has gained strength in this way will easily succeed in self-enquiry." in sum, such practices make vichara much easier

My philosophy breaks down when I imagine reaching the substratum more than one time, what is that that persists in believing in seeing the substratum or is it only ego interruptus persisting as ego? : ) Perhaps this continues until bodily cessation at the end of life or until the substratum is again fully existing internally and subjectively. I doubt anyone understands the question as myself is not currently in understanding as understanding within my understanding. Perhaps more effort of less effort is required ho ho.

In some book, (?) Ramana states that the ego of the Sageman (him) arises AGAIN & AGAIN, he sees thru it & it does NOT HARM HIM!! It's been a great relief for me to discover that even Ramana had to occasionally deal with the EGO! ...so he was NOT PERFECT!!!! 😮
