For all of the amazing characters in the West Wing I think Stockard Channing's Abigail Bartlett might have the best first impression of any of the characters other than Jed. We've heard little bits about her from dialogue in earlier episodes about what kind of woman she was, but we haven't met her yet until this episode, and she immediately lets you know what kind of woman she is. Every bit the foil to her husband you can see immediately why he would be so happy with her. What a powerful team they make.
