Leaving japan from a 12 day trip. If you want to go shopping for games please skip super potato and hit the book off/hard offs, and suragaya’s!! Best bangs for your buck super potato’s should be called super overpriced no joke. eBay prices are cheaper than this place
@WalkinginJapan14 күн бұрын
hard offs are also quite expensive lately, specially in Tokyo. Maybe in little towns or not so big cities hard offs you can find some good deals, but most of stuff is simply more expensive. Mercari and Yahoo Auctions are places with better prices but you need to be able to read japanese and understand how this sites work, ways to pay for stuff etc etc. And yes, Super Potato prices are very high as I show here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/l6KshmeYmah4rbc

Muchas gracias.

I took a ferry from Okayama to Shodoshima, but the ferry in this video is much bigger than that one. I'd like to try a few-day ferry trip as well.
@WalkinginJapanАй бұрын
I have a friend living in Shodoshima, but I've never been there. Hope to visit someday. And yes, these ferries going to Hokkaido are the biggest in Japan, the Kiso and the Ishikari (the one I travelled in).

How do they make money, especially when there are ao few passengers?
@WalkinginJapanАй бұрын
When I travelled, there were about 500 people in the ship (asked staff). They told me there are usually about 250 or 300 people but that day was specially busy. Anyway, answering your question, this ferry is used a lot by truckers that need to bring over food (milk, cereals, etc) from Hokkaido to the western/southern prefectures of Japan. Instead of driving to Hakodate or Tomakomai and ferrying to Aomori, it's way faster and cheaper to load the truck and go directly to Nagoya, beyond Tokyo, and from there all the Kansai, Mie, Shikoku region etc. So they save a lot of fuel and time (it takes ages to travel long distances by road in Japan). Only with this, this ferry service is quite profitable, and this is why they've been doing it for decades. Tourism is just an add-on on top of that. Also, when I travelled in this ship, military trucks and staff were being hauled to Hokkaido.
@WalkinginJapanАй бұрын
PD - truckers and military staff have a different, reserved area in the ship. If you see in the video, there's a closed door stating that.

@WalkinginJapan3 ай бұрын

@WalkinginJapan4 ай бұрын
Hola!
