i'm 74 now.....but between 1970 and 1974 i was 21 and spent as many nights as i could listening to Ryan's Fancy at the Strand Lounge, singing along and drinking Blue Star beer.....the experience can't be described in words...the music is only hinted at in this video....3 better matched voices or more talented instrument musicians in the Irish genre is impossible to imagine....and this was before they became famous on tv.....it was the Irish equivalent of The Beatles at the Cavern Club.

This is the only vinyl album I own. They were playing at a club and my dad bought the album. When i was home one year I made away with it. I have some great childhood memories with this band.

Beautiful! Greetings from the Netherlands! I also played this beautiful song on my harmonica. It's not nearly perfect, but it comes from the heart. Please critique! kzbin.info/www/bejne/iqDclIKBhKd1hpY This is my total list: kzbin.info/www/bejne/gpSlZ4yFbLepjbc

I see myself there in the audience that night. Greatest place in the city, and the nicest guys. Might be 1973?

First heard this way back in the 1970s when i bought the LP. At one time i had a full collection of Sullivan’s Gypsies, Son’s of Erin and Ryan’s Fancy LPs, sadly gone now (along with the record player).
