Hi Adnan, great honest video, man. I am 38 and have a decent amount of expertise in Photoshop, video editing, and lately prompting LLM image models. For a long time, I've been thinking of starting 3D animation... but just like you said, 38... starting from scratch... it's tough. By the way, are you familiar with Reallusion Cartoon Animator 5?
@AdnanCan27 күн бұрын
Hey Hannes, it's tough but at least you've proven yourself with Photoshop and editing software which is no walk in the park. So you can certainly do it again be patient. I've heard of reallusion but not the character animator. I have a indie cascaduer membership so wanted to try that for animation. Is it any good?

Yep. I’ve fallen into underestimating projects and the amount of work that goes into it. 😂 I’m happy you learned how to let go of a project. I’ve seen people working on a project for year for them to be sub par because 10 “ok” projects is much better than a “perfect” first project that never gets done.
@AdnanCanАй бұрын
Haha ye I don't know how projects get out of hand so easily. And the benefits of learning from each "ok" project is a missed opportunity. Cheers mate

@@AdnanCan really happy I’ve gotten into blender at 30. There’s a specific focus I have that I didn’t have when younger and the ability to let go is a skill that many don’t learn until they are older. blender and the technology we have makes everything way easier as well. As a 40 year old nothing breaks my heart more than my friends telling me the dreams they once had that passed them by. Hearing your story was such a nice thing to hear - There is indeed no time like the present! I hope you inspire plenty of people in their “older” years to give it a try (We all know the 30s is not old really 😂)
@AdnanCanАй бұрын
it's so easy to let dreams slip by, but it’s never too late. Yh I agree 30s (and 40s) is definitely not old, and if we have the passion, we should just go for it.

I feel somewhat identified. I subscribed when you were skateboarding. I always wanted to skate, but never tried. Now I'm halfway through my degree in electronics and computer engineering. I really feel quite lost. I don't know which university degree to finish or start another. It's an age in which I feel I have to resolve it as soon as possible. However, I can't find a solution to my search for my vocation, everything is overwhelming. Thanks for uploading your progress👏👏. Greetings from Argentina

It's normal to feel lost especially in the 20s/30s. I'd say just go with the flow and not pressure yourself too much and make mistakes along the way. We have time to figure things out and we will 💪🏼.

I totally relate to you on the interface of 3D software being difficult to learn years ago. I remember I installed and launched blender about 8 years ago and after 15 minutes of fiddling around I just found it so hard to understand for a complete beginner that I lost interest. Instead of taking up 3D as my hobby, I learned Adobe software. UI was understandable and there were a lot of tutorials. I'm 22 now and I've been working with 3D software for about 3 years now. I've got more than a 1000 hours in Blender, which is a good reflection of how it's improved throughout the years since I started my journey with Blender with confusion and frustration. I think it was Blender version 2.8 when the UI got massive improvements.
@AdnanCanАй бұрын
At least you didn't go completely off track and learned Adobe. Haha ye blender 2.7 looks horrendous compared to the latest version. 1000 hours is great keep it up!

@@AdnanCan That's true. It's actually so useful to have multiple skill sets that you can utilize for making 3D CGI such as 3D texture scanning, videography, storyboarding, concept art, animation, VFX, matte painting, 3D modeling. It's both fun and dreading to be a jack of all trades and master of none. Thanks for the encouragement! Likewise :) Your progress is astonishing.

I'm sure all the major studios cut corners wherever they can get away with it. Rendering huge scenes of photorealistic effects can cost not only time but money. Those render farms don't come cheap and probably use a ton of power. And although CG has come a long long way, sometimes just filming practical elements is well, more practical. You're definitely on the right track there.

This is great, awesome work, small tip, I noticed the edge of the cushions look too bright against the wall, perhaps some ambient occlusion node added to the wall could make it a little darker and create some artificial shadows which can separate the cushion from the wall in a non-intrusive manner.

@@AdnanCan I don't think you should completely re-do your chairs, i think they looks good, but you should perhaps subdivide them a little bit and add some lumps in places that are likely to be, like if someone is sitting on a seat all day that area will be a bit more dirty and may sag in a little bit.
