The greatness of this horse can be found in his pedigree on the broodmare side which goes back to the great Armbro Whirl a Greenwood racetrack trotter. Basically anything that goes back to Armbro Whirl is a stakes caliber trotter.

With a real driver the horse could have gone about a second faster each race he ran. The horse was much better than what he showed due to driver.

This horse was easily capable of going under 1:45 - he never ran hard and his top speed was absolutely insane and he had 2 serious injuries and operations on top of all that. Miki is probably greatest standardbred of all time.

Absolutely Right On! I was there up in Pegasus, I went specifically to bet Somsam because I really liked what I saw at Brandywine, loved that he got the 10 post for the odds. Ed Gorman's call made that race even more exciting!! Those Were The Days 👍🙂😺

Probably the GOAT of harness racing. Would smash Bulldog Hanover, Christian Cullen etc.... His gait is so consistent. He is tall, with a muscular neck and shoulder. Bro is all testosterone and intelligence. If I was to think like Jordan Peterson, he is the boss of the standard bred male dominance heirachy.

I was so disappointed when he was sent to stud. Horses like him are so rare... seeing them forced out of racing so early was terrible.... but hopefully he makes up for that in the barn. I can only imagine what he would have run at Menangle if he could run sub-1:50 at Bendigo...
