Thanks again for all the great info and insights on the Triumph Speedmaster. A lovely bike (a bike to be 'cherished' as one vlogger put it) I'm a shorter rider 5'7" with a 29" inseem and not used to the feet forward riding position. Would that be a deal breaker for owning this bike do you think?

Not at all, to be honest I think the shorter you are the better for this bike. I’m 6ft3 and I find my knees get in the way sometimes and I’d love to have my feet further forward so think being a shorter rider would really suit this bike.

Glad you got it repaired albeit £285 which I am sure you could do without having to spend. I have extended Triumph Approved warranty on my Speed Triple RS which I needed to claim on in march at MOT time as the tester said the rear hub bearings were worn as play in the wheel which cost £330 to replace and fit to pass it's MOT and two years before I needed to claim as the 3rd and 4th gears of the gearbox gave up and that repair was £2,300. And Triumph know about this so if I'd not had their Approved Warranty and they refused to sort it out with no cost to me, I was prepared to sue them as my bike and only done 1,300 miles at the time. The warranty is £349 a year which includes full breakdown cover EU as well. YT is beaming you to us in 1080p, not 4k. The image quality is not great even for 1080p HD. I have never been asked to remove my helmet when paying for fuel. If I were, I would point blank refuse. End of.
@fozbox6 ай бұрын
I mean £285 isn’t disastrous but these sorts of things just shouldn’t happen with premium brands, especially when the bike is only lightly used! Interesting that it’s only coming in 1080p - I’ve checked and it is 4k. Sometimes you have to select it manually, if you select the playback settings when watching the vid does it give you the option to change video quality to 4k?
@alexmorgan34356 ай бұрын
@@fozbox I did. 1080p was highest available. Maybe YT is up to it's old tricks of down scaling videos to be able to cram more into it's bandwidth?
@alexmorgan34356 ай бұрын
@@fozbox Yep, 100% agree with you on premium bikes with little use. If you feel sufficiently agrieved you could always make a claim against Triumph or the dealer you bought it from stating you don't believe this component was of suitable durability and quality and should not have failed. Take them to the Small Claims Court., but it's all time and hassle. They would probably settle before your case was heard as although it is still £285 it's not worth them defending.

I own a 2022 Speedmaster and experienced a similar issue. Tried to start the bike and it didn’t crank right over, acted as if the battery was flat. Hit the switch again and it started right up with ABS, Engine warning light on. I shut her down and restarted and everything normal. Eventually I found two items. The ground stud to the left of the battery was slightly corroded, cleaned it and gave it a spritz with ACF50 put the boot back over the stud and all seemed right for about a month. Then the issue occurred again but at the same time I had noticed some oil spots on the floor and upon further examination I found that there was a slight oil leak dripping onto the connector for the rectifier. The oil leak is a common problem with some units and the bike is at the dealership to be repaired under warranty. I pick it up in a day or so and hopefully problem solved.

Glad you're back on the road and recording ;) I changed from GoPro (10) to Osmo Action 4 recently myself because of the better audio options. Apparently the official DJI lav is the one to use if you want a lav. It's been said to be excellent and as you know compatibility can cause havoc, but of course the DJI one is nicely compatible. I went a different way and got DJI Wireless Mic2 mics. One can be connected direct to the Osmo via bluetooth and the quality is on a par with wired lavaliers. Makes for a very simple and wireless setup. You can even run 2 wireless mic2s simultaneously, but you then need to use the adapter on the Osmo and run a wire to the receiver that comes with the pair of mics (if you buy the set). The advantage then, though, is you can tuck a mic in the helmet chin _and_ stick one somewhere it can hear the engine/exhausts. I'm working on the best setups as I type. Must make a vid... Also got an Insta360 X4 just to really complicate things! It's not a cheap hobby... BT connection to the Insta360 X4 turns out to be a bit poo, but it also has an adapter, so I figure I can have the Osmo wireless to the chin mic and the Insta360 wired to the receiver and recording the engine noise... If you're interested, check out my DGR vid (will finish processing in about an hour) where I use a combo of vid from Osmo and Insta360 and a pair of DJI Mic2 mics sometimes mixed in with the Insta360 on board mics! Was complex to edit, but a good test hehe.

@@fozbox It sure is an arse sometimes, but satisfying results :) I process with Premiere Elements and it was dog slow this time because I chose to record in HEVC (H.265 instead of H.264) and a mix of 30 and 60 fps... Even with a good PC every click was lagging multiple seconds... took hours to edit... and then you process and upload! hehe And now KZbin is still processing... Hope I don't have to re-upload (which took hours) lol. But, yeah, fun hobby! Hehe Keep at it dude. I enjoy your style. Natural and relaxed is very watchable. We all cross fingers to 'go viral' eh?
