I had braces in my 40s and you will reach a point where you don't even notice them. I missed them when they took them off! 😄 I kind of like this fragrance category and have always wanted to smell Nivea EDT, which is difficult to find on this side of the pond. Great video, Cherie!

Don't feel self-conscious, the braces are not that noticeable and I'm glad for some imperfection in life, I get tired of youtubers with false eyelashes and full makeup. Ah, ambroxan is my nemesis, I am very sensitive to it, I get an almost gagging reaction, my nose ferrets it out, and unfortunately it's so ubiquitous and not always listed, so sorry that it ruined A drop d'Issey for you too.

I really like all of the Trudon perfumes. I can’t decide which one I want to get a bottle of but Elae is up there with Aphelie, Mortel, Bruma, and Deux (II). Not sure if this would count as a lotion/spa scent, but I’ve gotten a few compliments on Orpheon by Diptyque. To me it smells a little soapy, aromatic… maybe an “earthy” spa. Thanks for the video!

There are a couple affordable gems out there that fit this category perfectly. Oxygene Lanvin (W) and Noa Cacharel are worth checking out if anyone loves a lotion but better smell. I was also wearing Iris des Champs Houbigant yesterday and I think that might fit in this category. Dia is a favourite for me too. I wonder if you are picking up the fig in there.

I adore heliotrope and orris! I’m going to buy M. Micaleff Pearl now. These scents are quite comforting to me! I love them for bedtime or to fill the gap after a shower! Hope the adjustment to the braces gets better! I’ll also have to try the other with orris.😊

I love and adore Champs Elysees but in the EDP iteration, along with D&G original Pour Femme and YSL Paris in the EDP, I would say they’re all within in my top 20 fragrances for life. So feminine, romantic, ethereal and just sumptuously floral. I love how articulately and candidly you describe fragrances, it’s so thoughtful, beautiful and gracious. 💜

I can't think if I have any lotion like perfumes. I do have both the Nux body oil and the perfume and I find the perfume is not that similar to the oil. I mean is it "similar" but not the same to my nose. I love the oil and just used up my bottle this summer but I didn't choose to wear the perfume more than a few times as it is also super light. I agree however that because it is light and body product like, it is easy to then layer over a few hours on with something more strong or longer lasting. You look lovely and I really like those earrings! oxJulia

First of all, this is a very nice list and I love the theme. Question for Matt- I kinda thought Black Orchid would be on his Black Tie list. Can you ask him? But, I highly approve of his Vanille Havane selection. 😅 👏 And I'm going to London next month, so I finally get to sample all things Ormonde Jayne.

Interesting! Woody Mood always made me feel an autumn like, out in nature kind of scent (like the photo it comes with)... but now that you mention it, I can kind of see it coming across as elegant. Agreed on Nawab, that one smells very fancy. :D

Going to go with the most obvious perfume! Black Tie by Celine. Perfect name for such a lux scent.

I don’t live a black tie event life style really at all. The closest I probably get to one would be going to the ballet or classical music concerts. In choosing what to wear from my collection to attend either one of those, I’d probably go with Tsarina Intensivo (Ormonde Jayne), Folie D’Un Soir (Goutal), or Explicite (Ex Nihilo). Allure Sensuelle (Chanel) also comes to mind as a possibility, and knowing me I could very easily go cliché and wear Iris Prima (Penhaligons) if I was going to see a ballet. If I was in a vintage mood, I could see myself pulling for Mitsouko (parfum) or Dioressence (also in the parfum formulation). I’ve been wanting to try Woody Mood. I don’t own anything from the house, but Iris Shot and Violet Shot are both on my wishlist. P.S. Your thumbnail for this video is adorable.

The most “black tie” type of perfume for me is Gucci Eau De Parfum, or Dior Addict (both old and vintage formulas).

So many great choices,I would really like to try Woody Mood at some point! My take on this would maybe be Papilefiko from Nishane. Very spicy,woody and aromatic with a little sweetness. And if I need some more sweetness,I would take one spray of either Bois d'Armenie or Meharees from L'Erbolario on top of it 😊

The last time I wore a tux was December 2018, so not a common occurrence for me. 😄 My most opulent perfume is probably Woman in Gold by Kilian (the old formulation). It's difficult to wear on a daily basis! Loved the video, Cherie.

Only heard of one or two of those scents Most are unknown to be honest and you are probably getting commission for promoting them I would suggest you stick to scents that most people are familiar with

I have an inspired version, not because I wear it but because I LOVE the idea of it, I had a small sample of the og and I just found it intoxicating when I first smelled it. I could never justify the price because I don't believe I would actually wear.

I completely agree with you on Nawab Oud and Opera, somehow made for special occasions, they feel very special. I cannot wear Opera though, I realise how the air left behind smells strongly to this perfume and I do not enjoy to project so much😅

I have just filmed a "posh scents" one great minds 😜 Nawab of Oudh I do love a lot. That's a great description, it is very classy and yes the cardamon shines. I never dress in perfectly pressed clothes 🤣 but I smell good. Opera sounds not too bad at all. DHI was weirdly the one I struggled with, wore so heavy on me. The new version really was not good. The Initio I did struggle with quite a lot but one of the better ones from them That Veni is a nice one. HdP have some really good ones Weirdly Coco N was the one I didn't love from all of them. A good one tho Yes you're a fan of that Lady Whitesnake 😊 it sounds not too bad Great video 😊 one of my dressier ones I'd say Gold Man or Angels Share
