Great video. You turned me on to some new bands to investigate here. It’s not really my genre (I’m a 60y/o old school metal head) but in 2009 I discovered the band SKELETONWITCH and their first four albums are at the top of my favorite albums list of all time so I’m always looking for something like that. What’s your opinions on them? And do you have any idea why the singer was kicked out? I hear it was something about him abusing someone else, possibly his girlfriend but there’s no real details I could ever find and from the reaction in interviews with the band it seems like they were absolutely appalled by something he did. What part of “evil demons now control my life” from the song ‘within my blood’ didn’t the band understand? lol

As always, great list. I think I have plenty new stuff to listen to or catch up on that I missed.

My top ten are the albums from these bands, 1st at the top Aquilius - out of this world atmoblack. Insane addictive album that always makes me cry Gaerea - There's just something about this album that hits and connects with me. It's like.. extremely high fidelity black metal that I fuck with Amiensus -masterpiece of progressive black metal (im counting both parts as one album). Saidan - I don't care what people say about posers. If all posers made albums this FUN the world would be amazing. I always get a laugh while headbanging. Unto Others - I only caught this album in December, but one of the best goth rock albums I've heard. The hooks are so damn infectious it's insane. Su*c*de today is probably my song of the year Capstan - Stellar post hardcore. Misery scene is probably second favorite song of the year. The entire album is just solid song after solid song IOTUNN - I mean.. come on. The only reason it's this low is because it's such an investment, which is a good thing Assemble the Chariots - How this album came and went baffles me. This is perfectly nerdy and fucking crushing deathcore. It's also super creative in deathcore. Sunburst - probably my favor prog rock/metal album. Just overall a really fun album with great hooks, interesting lines, etc Huntsmen - Such a weird album that shocked me with how good it was. Just something always keeps me enthralled When I was making this list, I hit 20 albums really quickly. It's just been that good of a year for the music I like
