I listening to the radio in the car late one evening when the news broke that Carlos Vega had died. It is one of the "I remember where I was" moments in my life.

Carlos Vega was perfect for JT, because he added drive, but in a very supportive way....come to think of it, any time Mr Vega picked up the sticks, he made everyone he played with sound that much better! R.I.P

his material is very strong 1970-1986. Very weak after that. His last consistent album was "Thats Why I'm Here". Cannot even listen to anything after that!

I think Carlos got a LOT of recognition especially for turning into a sought after studio drummer. he, Eddie Bayers, and Larrie Londin...three of the greats.

man...still can't get it that Carlos is gone....he and my dad recorded together with the Bellamy Brothers...he was and still is one of my drumming influences
