I hear a sound like crickets and it stays with me for a few minutes afterwards. Is this normal? I've noticed it a bunch of times when everything is really quiet.

Easy for people like him in his ivory tower. I'd like to see how he would cope with a family and a shortage of income.

Excellent ... Very well explained... I'd love to have a conversation with you ... and share my experience of my personal journey from the time I was a little boy in Africa, whose family got caught up in a liberation struggle, ( against British imperialism) ... Had to take refuge in Tanzania ... Whilst living with parents who had big marital problems, which manifested in domestic violence whilst under the influence of alcohol .... (they operated very much from the limbic brain) However I seem to have navigated these stormy times fairly unscathed from mental problems ... My story has been an incredible journey of self discovery ... that got me travelling to many countries around the world, not as a tourist, but trying to make sense of this crazy world ... One of the countries I had to visit was Israel ... Which, fortunately I was able to spend 5+ months there studying about why this part of the planet produced the Abrahamic faiths ... and I also wanted to understand the whole history of Zionism ... Today "strangely" enough ... I happened to watch TRT TV ...and you were being interviewed about your experience ... I felt a connection with you instantly ... So I checked you out on Google ... Here we are ... Synchronization !!! ??? Btw I was in Israel in 1980...there were still skirmishes over the Golan heights ... I too had a possibility of claiming Israeli citizenship, because of my great grandmother was called ... Rachel Israel ... but I am happy to say that I could never be an Israeli citizen ... I saw first hand how the Palestinians were treated back then ... It reminded me too much of colonialism under the British ... But my grand parents were brought up Catholics, which I rejected at 14 years old ... Anyway this could be a very long text ... Just wanted to let you know that you have touched someone who comes from Africa with a whole bunch of experiences or adventures that validates what your lectures has been about in this video .. I have and still studying the human brain, particularly it's emotional structure ... I also spent time with Amazonian indigenous peoples who taught me a lot about shamanic healing ... Of course Africa has a long tradition of emotional healing too .. I learnt that as a kid growing up under the propaganda machine of the imperialists who completely tried to destroy their ancient stories and wisdom from the Prefrontal cortex ...by replacing it with "Christianity" or Christian imperialism ... Nothing to do with the teachings of the man from Nazareth ... In Africa, we had Ubuntu ( I am, because we are) Or we also have "umoja" ... Oneness ... Harambee ... lift together . One love❤ ... One heart ❤ One beat ❤ One mother earth ❤️🌍 One Prefrontal cortex ❤😜

Respectfully, you are in a more 'chilled out' state because you are living off of your parasympathetic system (rest and digest system) instead of the sympathetic system (fight, flight or fright system). There is a physical answer for why meditation and compassion work. Thank you, Thubten, for your generosity and wisdom...

A tech question: what shall I do to stay awake? I follow all the advice, still after 10-15 mins I fall asleep. :( I can sometimes recognize the moment, but just can't stop it. inb4: I don't have sleep problems, it's just the way meditation impacts me...

narcissist are running the show in the probation service in the uk their flocking in to these criminal justice sector roles as probation officers to fuel their need for power over others and need for supply which is why baiting is so highly prevalent in their centers their gaslighting the hell out of service users trying to break them mentally targeting mainly those who are down as having mental health issues on file this way they can work things to their advantage and make it look like it the service user that got the issue not them their centers are narcissistic playgrounds run by kidults i wish someone who on probation in the uk would record whats going on these probation centers and upload it to youtube and exposes these parasites that are mentally abusing service users

Growing up with 2 narcissistic parents and an autistic brother and abusive sister devastated me.😔 I appreciate hearing this. Everyone of the symptoms of narcissistic survivor syndrome described me precisely unfortunately.
