Hi ,,,, I'm 70 years old ,, I go to bed between 9+10 and wake up about 2.30-3.00 and remain awake, sleeping meds very seldom works , I'm now using Guided Sleep Hypnosis Music and it seems to help,,, was diagnosed with major depressive disorders and a few months ago with Dipolar Mood Disorders ,. I was diagnosed with Bipolar Type 2 in my mid 50’s. I’m now in my early 60’s I know that I’m going into an elevated mood when I stop sleeping, the worst episode being 6 nights without going to bed/sleep. A depressive episode then follows for about 2/3 weeks when the opposite happens & I can’t get out of bed. The insomnia is the biggest issue & having tried many methods, lack of sleep is a huge issue for me.

As my family and I participated in this study, the only feedback would be to carry out the assessments with more experienced members of staff, explain the rational for each assessment and provide clearer bench marking against those who came before us.
