We adopted Cherokee. He had Macaws Wasting Disease, and ended up dying 6 months after we got him. DO NOT adopt or buy from this guy, he is neglectful and raises his birds in complete filth. He does not know how to properly care for parrots. A real POS of a person. RIP Lefty aka Cherokee 😢

I recently got my Indian ringneck bird too a few days ago had it for about a week now he / she is only 1 month old and we are currently handfeed baby so when can i start introduce Pellets and fruits to the bird i done do much research on things but it seems everyone has them already all feather up mine is barly getting anything still is very small and what age do i need to stop using the heating pad

If he is new to your house or sanctuary as always it will take a little bit of time to settle in and feel safe. Slowly slowly is the way forward

i just wanted ti say, she may be mouthy with pets since ekkies are very specific with their pats, my ekkie only will allow me to pat her if its downwards and nkt covering her eyesight and done by me, and not for too long so see if your baby is like that!

Hey Tom, we were picking up an 8 week old Ringneck this weekend. Need advice, how often will I feed an 8 week old,? When should I begin to introduce whole foods (the yams/mashed potatoes). I want to get the bird on solid foods as early as possible so we aren't trapped at home all day over the summer vacation (gotta get the human kid out to play as well LOL) I could really use your suggestions please. I want one of these birds more than anything and if I somehow get very wealthy, I’m dead set. I feel a little bit bad about captive breeding, but there are only 3000 left in the wild and it may be the only way to preserve these stunning beauties since the habitat is almost gone and they reproduce so slowly.
