Good to see you both out. Thats was quite a ride to Newhaven ! After visiting Flanders in September, and seeing all the bike infrastructure in Belgium and France. I definitely would like to visit the continent next year. So many options. Well done i enjoyed it cheers. 😀

Do you think you could fit a bike in the porch area, especially if you took the front wheel off?
@bodmacity
@bodmacity 9 ай бұрын
I would say the porch area would be too narrow and the sides slop quite a lot. Something to try when I next use it to verify this!

@@tobygreenwood5036 I usually just lock my bike up with a cheap combi lock when camping to avoid opportunistic thieves. If there is something I can lock it to I'll use that for example, at this site I locked it to a picnic table. So far touch-wood I've never had issues!

I am considering the tarpatar 1 precisely for that reason. Any chance you could do a video of trying to fit your bike in (with wheels removed) and tag me in the commy? I am sure others would also value seeing this too!

I live over in West Wickham which isnt too far. Some really nice rides over here heading out to biggin hill, westerham, shoreham, areas with a lot less traffic and nicer views. When i used to live in Norbury, Crystal palace area had some nice climbs but the traffic made a lot of them torture. Nice video!

Thanks! Yes, some of the roads around Crystal Palace can be busy. I've been out to Shoreham before. The scenery is lovely around there. I even attempted York's Hill once which was a beast!

do you reckon you could store the bike on the other side of the tent or not enough space?
@bodmacity
@bodmacity 11 ай бұрын
I don't think you could. It is quite narrow, plus if you did.manage to squeeze it in, for example by taking the wheels off, you would have to climb over the bike to get out of the mesh tent.

@bodmacity oh,. Well I'm only an hour from Dover. So a slightly more leisurely weekend across the channel ! I attempted the King Alfred's Way in the summer (on my own,.camping) and got about 3/4s away around. I did not realise it but I "Bonked out" a few times and I had to cut it short. So I need to be a bit more realistic 🤣. Next year I will be better perpaired ! Atb Grant 👍.

Great video, thank you for sharing. What do you think of the space in the inner ? Did you find that you were close to the mesh when lying down, or would you say there is ample space even for taller hikers ? Many thanks.

I’ve used the Tarpstar 1 a couple of times now. I’m 5 foot 8 inches and I find the inner to be spacious enough. I still have to get to grips with a perfect pitch though! The last time I pitched it the inner was a little flappy and rather close to my face which was a little annoying. This may have been because the ground was uneven. I did try and tighten everything up but to no avail.

Thanks! It's a great route. I did it two days and it was a bit of a push at the end to make it back to the station on time. Having said that I did leave the campsite rather late as it was so nice there and I was enjoying the sunshine. I would avoid the sandy golf course section which was near Sandwich I believe, unless you enjoy hike a bike! There was a perfectly nice road that was parallel to it. Have fun on your ride.
