DC port always had a bad reputation from the UK gaming press bitd hence why I avoided it then. Having played it now in recent times, it really is a good port - I can’t understand the hate. I’ve heard Genki only had four months to knock the port out before DC Japanese release date?

@@subliminalvcr Yes was the launch PAL ports not being fully optimised that got most of the hate. Japan import releases got mostly decent review scores at the time they got released, magazines like Edge were critical, but still it gave most DC launch era games an average of around 8/10 IIRC.

@@TheKayliedGamerChannel-KZbin Music is proper good in this. This probably didn’t get ported during 360/PS3 era due to it not being a popular game and renewing the car licenses would have probably cost Sega a fortune…

This was a regular fixture in The Royal London pub in Wolverhampton in the late 90s and I used to have the odd play on it. It was a very popular machine with loads of people playing it. I also remember them having a Virtua Tennis cab too after Star Wars Trilogy. ✌️

Must say, Sega Rally 2 has to be among my “timeless” games that I never get tired of playing over the years. ✌️

@@subliminalvcr search for a old logitech driving force wheel with force feedback. They can be very cheap but are still perfect for this old games.

Funny thing is, the people diving out of the way was the first thing that really struck me about this game when I first saw it in the arcades in the late 90s. Blew me away - it was like the real thing in a game! 👍

This is a good port for the time, apart from the terrible jump controls. I enjoyed playing it with my mate on his Amiga bitd. Dragon Ninja is a bonafide arcade classic - gameplay is a bit bare bones nowadays but the nostalgia is epic with this classic. 😎✌️

Deffo mate, the only noticeable difference to the untrained eye is the pop up and glitches - not sure if this is the emulator or was present on the original arcade game?

Thanks mate, playing this on the Supermodel emulator on my laptop which I’m also using to stream at the same time. I had to reduce the performance to get it to run well whilst streaming. I’ve just bought a cheap second hand mini PC on eBay with the intention of using it run Supermodel emulation for the Model 3 games so I can run it on full performance whilst streaming from my laptop. 👍

I’ve got that cheapo mini pc now and it’s struggling to run Supermodel - I’ll be tweaking the settings or running an older version to try and get it all running nicely soon. 👍

Yeah the Amiga version is quite obscure but is a great port of the original arcade game. The GNG games are definitely hard games but I’ve played stuff that is a LOT more difficult! I used to breeze through Ghouls N Ghosts on the MD when I was a kid but struggle a bit now in my middle age! Never really played Super GNG but it is in my collection. 👍

@@subliminalvcr allegedly 😂 I've made it further on this version than any other, but it's different levels so not a real comparison. I don't remember too much slow down tbh, but love the double jump 👍

I enjoyed Revival and you can’t beat a clear case on retro hardware. ✌️Not massively into the Commodore scene, so probably won’t go to the Zzap event…

It’s a really playable and great port on the Amstrad, tragically with no music. I really enjoyed seeing how good the C64 version was in your video and equally amazing to hear music in the Speccy version! I think Bubble Bobble is so fondly remembered by people who grew up in 80s Britain due to the quality of these ports. 👍😎

No problem at all mate and another superb challenge. Yes the lack of music takes the shine off this in 2024 but back in the UK in the 80s, most people weren’t too fussed about having music in their home computer ports. 😉👍

Yeah only some minute differences to the PS4 version! 😜Such a shame this port doesn’t have music as it really is good conversion to the humble old Amstrad. 👍 Thing is, back in 1987, most UK 8-bit home computer gamers didn’t expect music in their games!

It’s a timeless design the mk4 Supra. I’ve had two of them, I love them that much! ✌️
