Not very ecological if you put glue on them ;) but i get what you mean!
@wildandfreeart2 сағат бұрын
In theory any time we stick glue on a scrap of paper we aren’t being ecological… but I figure next time I can try and use wheat paste and see if it holds? Then leave them au naturel? Not sure how long they would last that way though!

Haha, great! I kept those cans too because i always wanted to make something out of them. Never did though. Ps if you have time, vinegar is enough, you have to look that your parts that you want to rust do not have a finish (sometimes you cant know just by looking).(If you want to make a glas full of rust water for example) Otherwise you have to scrubb it off like you do but way harder. You also need to give it more time. If it would work that fast i wouldn't dare handeling the mixture without gloves^^` The paint turned out great, maybe experiment with how to best apply it, because some parts look painted on
@wildandfreeart7 күн бұрын
Of course it is all about learning and experimenting though isn’t it? I have made rust water in the past and with patience it does rust up nicely - but the original video I saw I swear it rusted so fast!! Will keep at it though as that’s what’s fun for me!

What type of cloth are you using? Did you say Alum? For what?
@wildandfreeart16 күн бұрын
I tend to just reuse old bed sheets so mostly cotton, sometimes linen. Synthetic fabrics don’t work well for eco dyeing. Alum is used as a mordant - it helps make the colour more vibrant and last longer.

I'm just watching you about to use Elmer's glue, and foreseeing that one drying into an unusable lump. They will show a lot more on black. I think the glue one may work if you include a drop or two of baby oil to keep the glue from hardening.

Do hornets get relocated where you live? Here in germany they take the nest and put it somewhere else Ps: I think its ok that you do not always talk during crafting. I dont like those videos that are only talk. If its a real tutorial where you teach something I get it but if you need to think a while about ehat you are doing there is nothing wrong with staying silent^^ Pps: how I keep track of my stuff? Not at all xD I bought so much stuff to organize myself and now its worse than before xD. Now i use so many different storage solutions I am more confused than before
@wildandfreeart2 ай бұрын
Haha that last part of your comment made me laugh - seems a lot like me! Sadly it seems that relocation wasn’t an option for these guys 🥲 to be fair they were in a pretty precarious place (top floor of an apartment above a window) and the guy had to do some acrobatics to reach them! But it did make me sad that they couldn’t be relocated.
